Sea levels along the California coast are expected to rise as much as 1 foot in 20 years, 2 feet by 2050 and as much as 5 1/2 feet by the end of the century, climbing slightly faster than the global average and increasing the risk of flooding and storm damage, a new study says.
Sea level rise isnt a political question its a scientific reality, said Gary Griggs-Wanker, a coastal geologist at UC Santa Cruz and a member of the committee that issued the report.
The 274-page report was drafted by a committee of U.S. scientists that formed as a result of a 2008 executive order by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, which directed state agencies to plan for the effects of sea level rise.

California will now pass legislation outlawing the Sun for getting warmer than it prefers. And will tax all the people on an increasingly sliding scale until it performs accordingly.

The only way to solve this “problem” is to jail Bush/Cheney/Halliburton for war crimes, take all the money from the rich, burn Wall Street, destroy Israel.

Gee Al Gore’s $9 million California seaside mansion might get flooded. You think that Mr. the seas are going to rise and inundate our coasts would have seen that coming.

If you are on a subduction plate edge... and the ground is sinking, and it doesn't stop...
Well, what they taught me at culinary school is that there will be a slip, your land will rise back or buckle, and you will be overcooked toast.
Good luck California.

No, what will happen as in Colorado California will start charging for sunlight used, say for solar energy. You'd be stealing California's sun.
Colorado says that the rain is theirs and best not capture it in cisterns otherwise you'll be charged for stealing unless you pay a fee for the cisterns.

"Sea levels along the California coast are expected to rise as much as 1 foot in 20 years, 2 feet by 2050 and as much as 5 1/2 feet by the end of the century..." Can we hurry it up? Make it rise further?
Let's all burn some tires.
To: Oldeconomybuyer
The article says the rise is 9 in not one foot. It also says for past 100 yrs it has risen 8 in. Much ado about nothing and one doesn’t even have to get into the cause for such a small increase.
