Why public's opinions on Zimmerman is shifting
Jewish World Review ^ | June 18, 2012 | Rene Stutzman

SANFORD, Fla. — (MCT) For weeks, the death of Trayvon Martin, the investigations it launched and the civil rights rallies it spurred were the most important news stories in the country, according to pollsters. At least six news organizations or polling companies did surveys. What they documented, in general, was that people were fascinated and outraged by the Feb. 26 death of the unarmed 17-year-old and angry at the shooter, Neighborhood Watch volunteer George Zimmerman. Two sets of findings, though, stand out: Although it was the No. 1 story in the country overall, twice as many blacks as whites singled it out as the country's most important story, according to the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press. And as time has passed and more evidence has been released, people's feelings about Zimmerman have eased. In late March, while people were still marching in the streets demanding his arrest, 33 percent of the country believed Zimmerman was guilty of murder, according to a poll by Rasmussen Reports. ... The original site was theealgeorgezimmerman.com which is no longer available. I went to that site within a couple of days of it going up, and even posted links on FR. At that time it said donations were for legal expenses only. I know what I read. They may have changed that later to cover their asses.

...now, hoodies. If you want a profile, don't seek a questionable appearance and attire.

The problem is not the hood on the sweatshirt. The problem is the hood in the sweatshirt.

Thanks, those seem to be the new buzzwords for identifying the old “Zimmerman is GUILTY” Hussein Head posters.

Your mischaracterization only discredits yourself, a shame to the cause of righteousness, since I think the Sanford police were originally correct to let Zimmerman go and think nothing more of it.

It didn’t change until after he left jail on bond. The recorded calls of him - which are the point of contention right now - were from when he was in jail. You really should get indignant over something else.

“Would you want him to fail to pay his bills and go delinquent or file for bankruptcy in the midst of all of this???”

Yes, they would.

That’s what their latest campaign is all about, notice how it no longer has anything to do with “Trayvon”, but now with both the Zimmermans’ “skimming”.

And they seem to be getting more worked up after calling them on it.

The website specifically primised that "every nickel" would go to legal expesnses. That's fraud, however you rationalize it.

They're both not working and since the case is now all about finances, lets see their tax returns going back 10 years. If they can be put on their financial knees, with addition dirt found on them, they'll be begging for mercy!

The courts and their prosecutors have *millions* to blow in their pursuit of these two. By the time their done with them, they'll head to prison owing tens of thousands.

Here’s a link for you, which contains the ACTUAL text from the ORIGINAL website:

http://usnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/04/09/11104813-george-zimmerman-takes-to-web-to-raise-money-for-legal-costs-lawyers-confirm?lite

This link is from the same time period that the website was set up.

“I am the real George Zimmerman. On Sunday February 26th, I was involved in a life altering event which led me to become the subject of intense media coverage. As a result of the incident and subsequent media coverage, I have been forced to leave my home, my school, my employer, my family and ultimately, my entire life. This website’s sole purpose is to ensure my supporters they are receiving my full attention without any intermediaries.
It has come to my attention that some persons and/or entities have been collecting funds, thinly veiled as my “Defense Fund” or “Legal Fund”. I cannot attest to the validity of these other websites as I have not received any funds collected, intended to support my family and I through this trying, tragic time.
I have created a Paypal account solely linked on this website as I would like to provide an avenue to thank my supporters personally and ensure that any funds provided are used only for living expenses and legal defense, in lieu of my forced inability to maintain employment. I will also personally, maintain accountability of all funds received. I reassure you, every donation is appreciated.
Sincerely,
George Zimmerman”

Would you like to find any evidence that supports your claim?

In the tapes he asks his wife to buy herself a bullet proof vest. I don’t call that scamming, I call it a good idea.

I would want to see a time line in detail mapping out the allegedly related events including all version changes to the website. I am not convinced, since we now also see a report that the website did originally promise the same thing it does now, i.e. legal expenses only.

The judge, by making this an issue, is effect saying that: "Oh, all that money that was raised to help you and your family meet expenses? That gets paid into court too! So no matter what you do, and no matter what the verdict, we are still going to screw you!" That tells me that they know that he shouldn't be standing trial in the first place and are now grasping at straws. What's troubling is there are some people who appear to be fine with that.

The ONLY reason for setting bail should be to ensure that he appears when his trial starts. It should NOT be to lock up finances and impose hardship as an extra-judicial punishment.

When the money was turned over to O’Mara, he put it into a Trust account for legal expenses AND living expenses. He could not and would not have done that if the money had not originally been raised for both living AND legal expenses.

BS tree hugin libtard.
Post thirty four links to an article from April 9, and it quoted the actual wording of the original website.
Zimmerman was clear about living expenses needing to be covered.

You made an oopsie and took a Dan Ratheresque concoction to be historical fact.

There is no “there” there.

The Zimmermans were above board about how the money would be used.

Doesn’t it seem strange to you that law enforcement has released those calls? Since when does the government release their documents before a trial?

We can talk all we want about what’s fair or not, but note that Zimmerman was in jail, and no longer earning an income. I don’t know about you, but our household would be in trouble before long if we didn’t have our incomes.

Those who gave money to support Zimmerman, probably did so because they didn’t want to see him railroaded.

Do you think they wouldn’t have cared if he lost his home, car, personal possessions, and credit standing? What if this caused his marriage to fail too?

If I had given money to support Zimmerman, I would support him using that money as he saw fit.

Law enforcement and the media have joined forces to take Zimmerman down, and they’re still at it here.

in lieu of my forced inability to maintain employment

should say something like "in lieu of the moneys I would have obtained if it had not been for my forced inability to maintain employment" -- as taken literally it is a nonsense statement. Which might be an "inadvertent" mistake, but courts do care, even appellate ones.

I’ll even quote from the second (current) website, which repeats that the original website was setup for living and legal expenses:

“The legal defense fund, as initially envisioned by George Zimmerman, as stated on his now-closed website, was set up to provide for living expenses and to fund costs and legal fees associated with his defense. This will also be the purpose of the new legal defense fund.”

“Are you not paying attention? The website said it was for legal AND living expenses. Things like mortgages, continuing debt payments, rent, and bulletproof vests ARE living expenses when you’re in hiding and can’t work.”

It’s all part of the latest campaign against Z.

It’s laughable what these Hussein Heads are indignantly posing as facts. “Skimming” must be the latest focus group buzzword.

And they’re so ANGRY at Z, now not for killing “Trayvon”, but for “skimming”.

I’m sorry, but you’re really grasping at straws now in trying to go after his grammar. He’s obviously not the smartest guy on the block, but it’s quite obvious from that statement that money is going towards living AND legal expenses.
