Seems to be a common theme.

I don’t think a letter of caution is going to stop her career. Hell, given that her name appears nowhere, I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s been fastracked to avoid scandal.

She got a leeter, and at least one promotion, according to the story.

Is promotion from O1 to O2 automatic, after a couple of years, in the Navy? In some branches of the service, I think every O1 is an an O1 for twenty four months, no more, no less. If so, her "promotion" bears no stamp of official approval,it just means she hasn't done enough to separated from the service.

Would you want to be an NCO under her command?

Either the Navy let her rapist get off with minimal punishment (long military history/tradition of that)
Or
She maliciously ruined a decorated senior NCO’s career with false rape accusations. (rare occurance)

Based on my own experience and observation, I'm going with option number 1.
Either way though, she loses her potential to be a career Officer.

Hate to say your wife is wrong. If you still wake up with morning wood, someone could have ex with you without you being awake to truly enjoy it.

I think she’s referring more the phenomenon of whiskey d-— than waking up with morning wood.

That's not likely, at least not for long.
The only thing morning wood means is, you have to urinate in the sink.

I assure you, had the chief been female, and the officer male, then it would have been the chief getting promoted, and the officer going to Leavenworth.

The chief was guilty of the following UCMJ offenses:

Article 000: Stupidity - Dipping your pen in the company ink.

Article 1000: Wrong Chromosome - Bearing male chromosomes in a situation with no other witnesses involving a member possessing female chromosomes.

Both are BCD offenses at least, though the first carries a financial penalty of half of everything you own, including your pension.

The navy's regulation on the Fraternization subject:

OPNAVINST 5370.2C

Amongst other no-nos:

UCMJ 134 (Fraternization) - Only applies to officers.

UCMJ 92 (Failure to Order/Obey Regulation) - Applies to everyone but used for fraternization issues involving enlisted.
