Marco Rubio calls Obama immigration order a 'short-term answer'(RINO)

WASHINGTON -- Republican Sen. Marco Rubio-- whose reaction to the Obama administration’s immigration order will likely be one of the most closely watched of his party-- issued a carefully worded statement Friday that called for helping young illegal immigrants but criticized the president’s approach.

“There is broad support for the idea that we should figure out a way to help kids who are undocumented through no fault of their own, but there is also broad consensus that it should be done in a way that does not encourage illegal immigration in the future,” the Florida senator said. “This is a difficult balance to strike, one that this new policy, imposed by executive order, will make harder to achieve in the long run.

“Today’s announcement will be welcome news for many of these kids desperate for an answer, but it is a short-term answer to a long-term problem,” he added. “And by once again ignoring the Constitution and going around Congress, this short-term policy will make it harder to find a balanced and responsible long-term one.”

If the kids are given a path to citizenship, then you’d be correct. But Rubio would merely give the kids a temporary visa (like a student visa), not a path to citizenship. That’s why Obama has fought tooth and nail against Rubio’s bill.

Bye-bye Rubio.

Surely these Kemp-Bush Republicans must know Americans and legal immigrants of Hispanic origin who believe in our nation of laws not men.

Are they saying that Hispanic people are inveterate criminals and cannot obey laws? We must kowtow to them? That's not the people of Hispanic origin who I know and who are in my family.

I recall Jack Kemp, Jeb Bush, and William Bennett out here in California calling us all kinds of names for passing Prop 187. Screw them. Maybe those who profit from cheap servile labor like what Rubio, et al are doing.

Illegals Projected

Year/Low/High

1990: 00,000,000 00,000,000
2000: 09,000,000 12,500,000
2010: 22,000,000 30,000,000
2012: 25,000,000 35,000,000

This is the reality we face. I can tell you that in the Los Angeles County run hospitals, the birth rates to children of illegals make up around 90% of the births each year. Perhaps 80% of the total health care provided, is to illegal immigrants, or their children.

Births in other Southern California hospitals to illegal immigrants is elevated.

How many kids do 30 million people have, when they are in their productive years. If 15 million families had four kids each, what’s the number come to?

We are messing with fire here. We are being occupied nationally, and our leaders are acting like this is some small tweak to our society. It isn’t.

This is a massive problem, and our nation cannot simply absorb this number of people, and growing, any longer.

We either face this and get our act together, or surrender our nation.

What did out Founding Fathers, our troops, and others who worked to create this nation and sacrificed their wealth or their lives do it for, if we are going to surrender it?

This is unacceptable.

There is no interest whatsoever by U. S. Citizens to make some accommodation, any accommodation for illegal aliens and their offspring.

What gave you the idea that I or any other U. S. Citizens give a damn about the children of illegal immigrants? My heart does not bleed for them.

My heart goes out to the children of our citizens, who have to put up with spending class time learning a language they already know, so others can catch up.

My heart goes out to the children who have to put up with run down schools, overcrowded classrooms, and whose parents have to pay higher taxes rather than use their funds to support their own children.

Rubio and Romney are both very concerned about the children of illegal immigrants. I hear nothing whatsoever about the plight of our citizen children, who put up with school yard bullying and second class status in their own nation.

“And by once again ignoring the Constitution and going around Congress, this short-term policy will make it harder to find a balanced and responsible long-term one.”

So then Marco, are you going to join Steve King's lawsuit to shut down this unConstitutional executive order or not????

Excuse me? We're drowning here in Florida. Unemployment is higher than most other States and Rubio just applauded Obama’s flippant regard of Federal law. Obama put the wants of illegals over the needs of Americans for the sake of politics. How is that not traitorous?

I'm sorry you're unable to see that 'Tea Party' candidate Rubio has sold you out but that's no reason to call me names.

This is what I wrote:

“What he claims there is “broad support” for—and I’m afraid he’s right about—is to give some sort of temporary visa to illegal aliens who were brought here as children so that they can finish studying and get a job.”

Just because you and I aren’t in favor of giving a temporary visa to illegal aliens brought here as citizens doesn’t mean that there isn’t broad support among U.S. citizens for such treatment. Have you seen polls on the subject? What there is broad opposition for is giving illegal aliens—whether children or adults—a path to citizenship.

If the kids are given a path to citizenship, then you’d be correct.

I think it is the apex of naivete to assume they will not eventually be offered citizenship.

Once the door is opened it cannot be closed. There can be no more compromise on this issue.

No, he doesn’t. Rubio has done more to take on the KENYAN than any Senator this side of Jim DeMint.

You do realize that once a person has been here on a work permit for six years, they are qualified to apply for citizenship? These guys know damn well what this will result in.

HELL NO!

Exactly right! These guys know precisely what they are doing. It’s a back door path to citizenship, and they damn well know it too.

Then we get some well meaning idiot (or otherwise), and they fall for it hook line and sinker.

Its for the Children.

Its so discouraging that so many Americans are still suckered by the same syrupy rhetoric after all these years. When its clear they have been LIED to time after time.

Why do you trust these politicians, folks? Isn't it clear yet where they're coming from?

Romney and Rubio’s only concern here, is that this wasn’t done the proper way. Neither of them grasps there’s no proper way to do an improper thing. And those who shill for them here, are either lost in space clueless to the reality of it, or are merely trying to blow smoke so others won’t see it clearly.

I still say Romney and Rubio are fifth-columnists on this matter. They are the ombudsmen of our political enemies on this one.

“Like a student visa”

Honestly, you are one clueless individual. What has this to do with work permits? If it’s merely a student visa, then it should only apply to a student’s educational matters. It doesn’t, and you damn well know it.

So I’m going to have to amend my comment about you being clueless. You are an agent provocateur. You’re working for the other side, either by ignorance or as a willing accomplice.

The end result of what Rubio supports in the way of amnesty will forever change our Republic into a third world sewer.

Rubio's only concern is for what is best for Rubio. This charlatan has no appreciation for limited government.

Wow, he has taken on the kenyan!!! With what??? Some nuanced speeches, some votes? They were vanilla speeches with a few catch phrases. BFD. Give me a break.

None of the men on the scene today have any of the love of Liberty that our Founders possessed. None of them have any interest or the capability to express to the public what is truly needed to bring back limited government. Rubio is just another smooth-talking politician who has risked nothing in his life.

They are all just jockeying around to get that they can for themselves and to help manage the decline for as long as possible until some collapse happens.

Then again, in a way I don't blame them-- lol. Government at all levels has developed an unstoppable momentum that is consuming our Freedoms and our wealth. No man or group of men can stop it at this point.

The coming decade(s) will be historic.

There are two major issues here that are lethal in their consequences for this nation, one imminently.

And Rubio and Romney fail in their responses to both. True, they are complaining about Obama's means, but we are beyond complaining about this blatantly illegal move by the administration.

I want the GOP in a purple faced spittle flecked rage - our entire system of government, and by extension our liberties, are at stake. Limp whining doesn't cut it anymore. As another poster pointed out, if either man truly wants to do something about this criminal action by the administration they can join Steve King's lawsuit to stop its implementation.

Oh absolutely! I agree.

For those who think a majority of U. S. Citizens want illegal immigrants to get any breaks, even if it involves children, they may want to check out this Washington Post poll.

Over 1,000 people have responded so far and (as of a few minutes ago) it was 68% to 32% do not agree with Obama’s new actions for the children of illegal immigrants.

For that to happen, it would require additional action by Congress.

Rubio is cutting the Democrats off in the pass with his bill, which is why Obama has done everything possible to derail it. He knows that if it passes, he would be forced to sign it into law, and it would take away the “children” card from the pro-amnesty folks (and they have no other cards to play).

Bravo! Bravo! Outstanding post that needs to be repeated everywhere.

Slimy politicians of both parties have allowed this illegal invasion by anti-American third-worlders to go on for decades.

They are purposely allowing the transformation of our Republic into a third-world Socialist sewer.

99.99999 % of illegals have contempt for American values and principles. They want to bring America down to sewer of their homeland.

Romney will NOTHING to stop our destruction.

I truly wonder if America can be saved????
