This is what I wrote:

“What he claims there is “broad support” for—and I’m afraid he’s right about—is to give some sort of temporary visa to illegal aliens who were brought here as children so that they can finish studying and get a job.”

Just because you and I aren’t in favor of giving a temporary visa to illegal aliens brought here as citizens doesn’t mean that there isn’t broad support among U.S. citizens for such treatment. Have you seen polls on the subject? What there is broad opposition for is giving illegal aliens—whether children or adults—a path to citizenship.

You do realize that once a person has been here on a work permit for six years, they are qualified to apply for citizenship? These guys know damn well what this will result in.
