President Obama came to the right person to raise money Thursday night: Sex and the City icon Sarah Jessica Parker.
In one memorable episode, she said (as Carrie), I like my money right where I can see it -- hanging in my closet.
The president probably would prefer it in his campaign coffers. At the Manhattan home of Parker and her husband, Matthew Broderick, Obama raised about $2 million, with 50 people paying $40,000 each to attend.
Broderick had to work hes starring in the Gershwin musical Nice Work if You Can Get It on Broadway.
Others in attendance included Meryl Streep, designer Michael Kors and Vogue editor Anna Wintour. First Lady Michelle Obama was there too.
Obama told the crowd he was running for a second term because our work is not yet done.
He also wryly remarked that hes pretty far down on the White House hierarchy -- behind his wife, their two daughters, his mother-in-law and the family dog, Bo.
Echoing an argument he often makes on the campaign trail, Obama said his reelection matchup against presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney presents the American people with a stark decision.
Weve got as fundamental a choice this time out than we have had in 30, 40 or 50 years, he said. What we are going to have to do is present very clearly to the American people that choice.
Later, the Obamas headed for a second fundraiser at the Plaza Hotel, where 250 people paid $10,000 each, the campaign said.
The proceeds from both events go to the Obama Victory Fund, a joint committee made up of Obama for America, the Democratic National Committee and several state Democratic parties.

Empty heads for Obama. So we have a horse head and a horses a## all in the same stable
No, likely the 99% were stuck in a citywide traffic jam due to his Highness’ visit.
I am actually proud to say I’ve never seen one episode of Sex in the City and only one of her movies.
She looks like she could be a John Kerry lovechild..
Continuing my ban of most things Hollywood and “Big TV”

Actors are frivolous brain warped trash.Yup.
All kidding aside, SJP is really getting homely looking.
As men age they tend to look more and more like Sean Connery.
And so is Sarah Jessica Parker.
Wonder if the paparazzi got any delish photos of “negroes” out front of that Hollyweird spread, in white tuxedos, parking the cars of the arriving snotty elite who probably couldn’t give two f*rts about 12% true unemployment in America (higher in Black areas), nor disgust with the man they went to pay homage to, who caused it in large part.

That ordinarily would be true except that Obama voters don't mind 0bumble's policies,if they are even aware of them.
Unemployment is 21%...
I swear, that is one scary-ugly looking woman. Pity poor Matt Broderick.
The crease in the slacks is not as crisp, the booming reverb is not as echo-laden, the soaring rhetoric is at 50 feet and augering-in, the platitudes are flat, the American People finally are getting it......Although the smarmy snarky elites are still swooning over the mirage, the American People see an Emperor with a bad suit of PR and a worse suit of despicable intentions.....
Talk about snark! < D
We know where I’ll Have Another went this week...Neigh!
Hope it was like something right out of Tom Wolfe’s “Radical Chic”. Those Upper Manhattan/Socialite/ShowBiz/Know-It-Alls deserve nothing better.
The True believers will still vote for Obama; that probably represents about 40% of the voters last time around. I'm convinced he got about 10-12% of the vote from a combination of blacks voting for the very first time, just because he was black, whites voting because of 'white guilt', and younger voters who wanted to support the 'cool black guy'.
I think many of that 10-12% will have become disenchanted by Obama's horrid policies, especially those who are now unemployed because of his decisions.
