BAND OF BROTHERS WORLD WAR II
Members of the 101st Airborne, June 7, 1944 at Ste.Marie du Mont, France
"This day is call'd the feast of Crispian. He that outlives this day, and comes safe home, Will stand a tip-toe when this day is named, And rouse him at the name of Crispian. He that shall live this day, and see old age, Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours, And say, "To-morrow is Saint Crispian." Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars, And say, "These wounds I had on Crispin's day."
KOREA
Members of the "Chosin Few", 1st Marine Division, December 1950
"Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot, But he'll remember with advantages What feats he did that day. Then shall our names, Familiar in his mouth as household words, Harry the King, Bedford, and Exeter, Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester, Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb'red. This story shall the good man teach his son; And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by, From this day to the ending of the world, But we in it shall be remembered."
VIETNAM
FMF Corpsman D. R. Howe treats the wounds of Pfc. D. A. Crum, "H" Company, 2nd Battalion, Fifth Marine Regiment, during Operation Hue City.
"We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he to-day that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile, This day shall gentle his condition: And gentlemen in England now a-bed Shall think themselves accursed they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day."
AFGHANISTAN
Soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division in action, Afghanistan, 2011
"Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more, Or close the wall up with our English dead. In peace there's nothing so becomes a man As modest stillness and humility; But when the blast of war blows in our ears, Then imitate the action of the tiger; Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood, Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage; Then lend the eye a terrible aspect; Let it pry through the portage of the head Like the brass cannon; let the brow o'erwhelm it As fearfully as does a galled rock O'erhang and jutty his confounded base, Swill'd with the wild and wasteful ocean." (Henry V, Act IV, Scene iii)
THE STRUGGLE AGAINST TYRANNY GOES ON, AS IT HAS FROM TIMES IMMEMORIAL. THE BAND OF BROTHERS STILL STANDS FAST IN THE BREACH!
They have our six!
Honor them for their Service and Sacrifice!

Thanks, AZ, for the red, white, and blue tribute.
Did you have a safe and sane commute? *HUGS*
We have a new momma duck with 7 ducklings. She is an old-timer...even with her ducklings, as soon as I go out on the deck she comes closer.

Good evening, ML...((HUGS))...it still looks like rain, but after about 18 hours off and on, it has been dry all afternoon. It was really nice listening to it fall on my skylight.
But....and I thought of you....we have a sun tunnel that just started dripping in the hall. Bathroom trash can to the rescue. Gonna have to call someone to check on it.
Just now the rain has started again...fairly heavy.
How are you and Linda doing with your water catching system?

Flag of the free heart's hope and home! Thy stars have lit the welkin dome, And all thy hues were born in heaven. Forever float that standard sheet! Where breathes the foe but falls before us, With Freedom's soil beneath our feet, And Freedom's banner streaming o'er us?

GOD BLESS AND PROTECT OUR TROOPS!
TATTOO (Click)
Must retire the 0500 0430 Reveille approaches relentlessly. Our Taskmasters vex us with an ever-increasing burden of work. They have sequestered us in a remote chamber known only as The Land of the Lost, which bears a banner over the lintel stating Abandon All Hope, Ye Who Enter Here. They stand and mutely watch over us as we toil hour upon hour without respite.
The Bugler, their minion, his grim visage replete with an evil sneer, already mounts the parapet.
If I can escape their iron grip, Ill chat with you all on the morrow. I can say no more they approach!
Do poor Tom some charity, whom the foul fiend vexes!
Good night, God bless you, and God bless the United States of America!
Godspeed our Troops around the Globe especially those in harms way by virtue of their service and sacrifice we continue to live in Freedom!

It was not bad, thanks! However, I remain fatigued. I zonked out a couple of times at the desk, much to the amusement of my co-workers. Now I really must retire - Good night , see you tomorrow!

I zonked out a couple of times at the desk...Been there, done that.....12 hour days can be really rough, especially when you aren't feeling 100%.
God Bless you good, Mac. Good night and rest well. Thanks for helping honor our troops, past and present. Thank you for your service to our country.

WOW! 2 inches is good....I know how much you were in need.
To: Kathy in Alaska
Well, the condition of our lakes is still dire, but at least
we can skip the hand-watering exercise tomorrow night.
I just pray that we continue to get rain...the lawn looks
much happier than it did! :)
