Is Perestroika Coming In California?
Forbes ^ | 6.11.12 | Joel Kotkin

When Jerry Brown was elected governor for a third time in 2010, there was widespread hope that he would repair the state’s crumbling and dysfunctional political edifice. But instead of becoming a Californian Mikhail Gorbachev, he has turned out to be something more resembling Konstantin Chernenko or Yuri Andropov, an aged hegemon desperately trying to save a dying system.

California still has a way to go before it is brown’s ideal society:

A dope-smoking hippie commune with free munchies for all dudes and chicks!

How could anyone expect the communists leaning liberal Democrats that have destroyed California to repair it? How stupid were the voters in California to bring moonbat back?

Clearly, the conditions for a California perestroika are coming into place. Still missing is a coherent vision — from either Independents, centrist Democrats or Republicans — that can unite business, private-sector workers and taxpayers around a fiscally prudent, pro-economic growth agenda. Yet it’s clearly good news that , for the first time in a decade, there’s hope that the whole corrupt, failing California political edifice could come crashing down, providing a renewed hope for recovering the state’s former greatness.

Why was there widespread hope that he would repair things in the first place? Didn’t they know from his first two terms that he was a leftwing lunatic?

With the majority voters in Ca. a cabal mixture of unionists, (pensioners) liberals, hollyweirdos, envirowhacks, feminists, GLBT, 3rd world socialist loving imports and other assorted rebels plus the ever increasing exodus of productive businesses and conservatives the state seems to be on a crash course therapy to turn it around. When the populace is filled with so many idiots who vote for their lame Dem overlords in Sacto eventually somethings gonna go pop with an ensuing mess.

“co-dependent evil twin Nevada”
What the H3$$?

Nevada is NOTHING like Kalifornicate’ya!

Article seems muddled, is the author trying to make a point or just being bombastic?

Nevada is not so dominated by socialist, we have a republican governor who actually follows republican principles for the most part.

His insult to Nevada makes the entire rant suspect.

A FReeper years ago coined barrystroika as the name of the "change the Obama nutjobs have been waiting for."

In fact barrystroika was coined in relation to an article by a Middle East Muslim claiming that Allah would send a U.S. version of Mikhail Gorbachev to destroy the U.S.

That was about four years ago at least.

Remember this?

It appears that no one has reserved this for a domain name. Could be a great pejorative name for the Obama shenanigans and and left-wing nutcase feeeeeeeeeeeeelings about things economics.

And Brewer, Arpaio, and others are going to start building that fence on the border themselves. I refer, of course, to the one with Californica.
