Since when is stopping a crime in progress vigilantism!?!
The 47-yr olds beating was not a chargeable crime. Judge Roy Bean Just announced the Bar is Open and he's buying.
Good for this dad!
We need a few more pervs beat to death, then maybe the rest will get the hint.
Give the Citizen/Father a medal!
Judge Roy P. Bean’s logic (once actually used in the case of the murder of a Chinese railroad laborer - or so the story is goes - details changed to fit the current case): “It’s against the law to kill a man. A sexual predator is not a man. Therefore, case dismissed.” After going through the deceased pockets, Bean then charged the dead individual the exact amount that the man had in his pockets for “court costs.”
“identified the victim as a 47-year-old man from Gonzales, Texas.”
Isn’t the victim here a 4yo girl?
Sentence the dad to a CCW course. There are far more effective, but less satisfying, ways to deal with molesters.
Not a thread police, but see these two threads for more comments. All different sources for the story.
This father saved a lot of children from being molested. Not just his daughter. I think I would have lost my mind if I were to witness that with my child.
“any person who takes the law into his or her own hands, as by avenging a crime.”
Above is a difinition of “vigilantism”—I think it fits this situation.
This guy just saved a lot of kids from this perp.
Give him an attaboy award.
I don’t. This is also covered by self defense laws.
They are already describing the alleged molester as a “victim.” What is the fathers daughter going to do if her father ends up in prison for killing a member of a protected group. Will the father think it was worth killing the guy if it means his daughter has to grow up without him?
Vigilantiism? I call it parenting.
This might be the best story of 2012 so far.
“...molesting his four-year-old daughter...”
I would have killed the POS....
After I had control of him, I probably would have made it a very slow, painful and horrifying death.
Exactly!
