A father beat a man to death after catching him molest his four-year-old daughter in a barn.

The man - whose name has not been released to protect his daughter - allegedly beat the attacker over the head when he pulled him off his child after discovering them in a barn in Lavaca County, Texas. Sheriff Micah Harmon said the victim, a 47-year-old Gonzales man, died at the scene. His name will not been released until his next-of-kin are notified.

A father that discovers a man molesting his four-year-old daughter and does not feel the need to beat the molester to death is a monster. The one that does, and even succeeds, is a hero. He is a hero in his daughter's eyes and in the eyes of every other father of daughters. May God bless him and ease any qualms of conscious he may have.

Minor caveat.

No grand jury or other judicial body has yet determined this is actually what happened.

It would not be impossible for someone to kill a guy and then claim he caught him molesting his daughter.

Given the specifics of the story, that’s not likely in this case, but should be kept in mind as a general rule. Killers don’t always tell the truth.

I was told a similar story, but this one involved nailing the perp’s offending appendage to the floor of a dilapidated outbuilding, setting the building on fire, and giving the perp a very dull knife.

She said the menfolk took him on a midnight tour of the steelworks and showed him the smelter. She said he must have left town because nobody ever saw him again.

Yeah, but the smelter smelled kinda funny for a couple days afterwards. Never did figure that out. Oh well.
