Teen’s truck décor sparks Confederate flag controversy in high school parking lot

ROCKINGHAM, N.C. —

When Trey Gainey drove his pickup truck to school Monday morning, he didn’t expect to be met in the parking lot by school officials telling him to remove a Confederate flag flying from his antenna.

The Richmond Senior High School junior said he flies the flag every weekend, and decided to leave the flag on his truck on his last day of classes before finals start.

Gainey has a belt buckle that says “Redneck” and a horn that plays “Dixie,” so there is no mistaking how the teen identifies himself.

“It’s just my Southern heritage, you know. I was born and raised down here and [it] wasn’t nothing racist, just me,” he said.

But when he drove into the school’s parking lot, school officials made him take it down.

“I’m like, ‘What have I done wrong?’ you know,” Gainey said.

So, the teen told the school officials he would not remove the flag.

I’m a Texan that has been living in California frequently during the time period we are talking about, I think this is different, not in California but in national reporting and writing, where I see the more focused attacks on Texas is in the media culture, and news, and scripts for TV and movies, and comedy, Texas is portrayed as regressive, racist, mean, republican, and as moving backwards.

Texas maintains and grows among the public in fly over country, but the national media left is becoming more hostile.

There’s rednecks of all colors (good) and [fill in any color] southern trash (bad). Bill Clinton was one of the latter. I don’t know what “star lifter” is getting at, but it sure seems bereft of any sense of intellectual honesty about history. If modern America lost Dixie, it would lose most of its conservative base. Ignore the silly troll. Flag it as offensive if you see fit (I will in about a second).

The point here seems to be a fear, however well or ill based, that fisticuffs or other violent friction would occur. That would be a valid reason to ban the items. If they weren’t banned, it was because there was no such fear. I detest the devil; the devil is my enemy and his servants are dupes. But I would give even the devil the benefit of law (google “the laws all being flat”).

I don't doubt you. The state of Texas has become the de facto fortress of last retreat for real Americans. It's also become economically strong, and has retained its historical independent character, despite every force that has been brought to bear against it.

Naturally, the liberal elite senses this, and has rightfully singled out Texas as the central target in their war to defeat the last Americans standing.

They've got a hard row to hoe, though. As the old saying goes, 'Money talks, and bs walks." There's no denying that Texas has got it right. While the blue states are crumbling, Texas and other red states are getting better every year. That has to be giving the little Commies night sweats.

There’s a lot of metal that isn’t satanic. There’s plenty of Christian metal out there, including subgenres like black and death metal. That simply is choosing the medium to communicate your message, when it isn’t based on something like a book or story of some sort.

This is a concept album about the creation of Earth and mankind. Lyrics are in the description.

There is a thriving industry, seldom talked about, where parents can essentially have their problematic children, by whatever standard the parents use, institutionalized with bogus medical diagnoses, until the insurance runs out, the parents want to stop paying, or the children turn 18. At which point they will be declared as “fine”, and kicked out.

Except that the now booted out and 'fine' children can't join the Marines and get straightened out (provided they want to), because after a childhood of Ritalin and other mood altering pharmaceuticals, the USMC doesn't want them either.

Thrashing would be too good for the parents and the minions of the State who benefit from the branding of, and wasteful destruction of a generation of people who might otherwise have been able to pull themselves from that mess by their bootstraps. Now, they can't even use the military as a first step.
