The Defense Department is looking for a little help from its friends overseas as the Pentagon and White House try to break Senate opposition to an international treaty on maritime law.
Meeting with the defense chiefs of several Asian powers during the Shangri-La defense talks over the weekend, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta took the opportunity to continue his push for Senate ratification of the controversial Law of the Sea treaty.

Will our US Senators cave on this? I see that as likely.
There are traitors from every direction in every level of government from local to State to Federal. The DoD, the DoJ, the EPA, DHS, the FBI, the CIA, the NSA, the ABC, and the XYZ are filling with Communists, Marxists, and their sympathizers.
The only real check to an aggressive Chinese military is a strong US military. This treaty would be as effictive as a restraining order against an abusive spouse.
(Thank God someone gets it)
But Panetta argued the United States and its regional partners, China in particular, have a critical role to play in advancing security and prosperity by respecting the rules-based order established under the treaty.
If both of us abide by international rules and international order, if both of us can work together to promote peace and prosperity and resolve disputes in this region, then both of us will benefit from that, according to the Pentagon chief.
Being a Seasoned Citizen, I hate to repeat that ol' saw about "There's no fool like an old fool," ( then again that could apply to all Libs/Progs/Socialists/Commies/Demo-Rats...but I repeat myself) but this MORON actually dares suggest we can "TRUST" the Chicoms?
Right! About as much as we could the old Evil Empire.
There's an apropos name for delusional, naive, Dhimmis like Panetta: "Useful Idiot!"
And to think that this Moonbat is our Sec Def? Shaking head!!!
I ask any Defense Department individual who supports the Law of the Sea Treaty to step down. They are unfit to serve, if they can’t see the negative aspects of LOST.
LOST would only be as effective at keeping China’s Navy in check, as it has been in keeping Iran’s nuclear aspirations in check.
Besides, whatever keeps China’s Navy in check related to the U. N., will also be used to keep the United States’ Navy in check.
As Nancy Reagan often said, “JUST SAY NO.”
the most dangerous thing in the world is to give the UN independent taxing authority.
Not only NO but Hell No !
LOST - Drop dead. UN - Drop dead.
Law of the Sea Treaty is nothing more than a global soverignty grab by the UN.
The Defense Department is looking for a little help from its friends overseas as the Pentagon and White House try to break Senate opposition to an international treaty on maritime law.
AND remember.....
The LOST treaty would allow carbon taxes on all members, as well as handing our sovereignty over. This is going to require some serious action on the part of patriots.
Thanks for the ping, Whenifhow.
My concern is that given the possibility of a lame duck democrat senate, this thing will be ramrodded like obamacare.
