Obama's declaration of support for same-sex marriage has African-American communities up in arms. Many African-Americans live in a culture that values strong masculine figures and looks down on homosexuality. Many put their faith in what their pastors say and what is written in the Bible, including the statement that marriage can only be between a man and a woman.
Pastor Dwight McKissic from Arlington, Texas, declared, "Obama has betrayed the Bible." Pastor William Owens from Memphis, Tennessee, decried what he described as "the homosexual community hijacking the civil rights movement," adding, "I did not choose to be black, and you did not choose to be white -- and homosexuals make a choice to be homosexual. So why compare what we went through with your situation? It's not the same thing; there's no comparison."
Owens is now threatening to sabotage Obama's re-election, and he and many other ministers are using their Sunday sermons to oppose Obama's support for same-sex marriage. Owens has founded an interest group of 13 African-American pastors in Tennessee to take action against Obama. They're determined to deny Obama their votes if he doesn't recant.
Many former supporters, meanwhile, sound considerably less enthusiastic these days. African-American professor Cornel West, for example,

In short, hell no! The Blacks will crawl over broken glass to vote for Zer0. The support for gays is Zer0’s way to get under moral Whitey’s skin.
Nope. Blacks who voted for Obama will do it again this year. Blue collar White Democrats, however, might not.

Won’t matter - nothing will - they’ll still grovel, crawl and slobber over the marxist, racist, criminal, 0bummer. Some won’t, but the majority, and all of them on the lib-dem plantation, still will. Sad but true.
I bet a few more Blacks will stay home on election day this time around, and that will likely be what it takes to get the Marxist out.
Possibly, but I think there is going to be a massive and coercive get out the vote effort by the left. The block organizers will come for you and take you to the polls and make sure that your supposedly secret ballot is cast for Obama.
I’ve coached basketball for many years at various levels, from recreation leagues to AAU. This means I interact with many black parents, at games, on trips, banquets etc. They know my politics. Politics comes up a lot. ALL of them were for Obama four years ago.
Of the eight or ten black parents I know well, only a couple of them are still openly for Obama. The best way I can describe the rest of them is that they are embarrassed by him and want him off the stage. These are good, solid, church-going middle class blacks, for the most part. They drive decent cars and go out to eat frequently. I sensed they were embarrassed by him before the gay marriage announcement. Now they overtly express disgust, not so much with Obama, but curiously with Michelle. Many of the women abhor her. More than a few have openly admitted they will stay home in November.
Their kids hang out with, and date whites. I coach girls too. One of my white girl stars ended up marrying a black player that I also coached. The black boys date white girls, and vice-versa. We’re in a new world, folks. I bet we’ll see 90% of the black vote still go to Obama, but turnout will be way down.
In the beginning, healthcare was not on their radar. It is now. They’ve never had much to say about Obama’s foreign policy but can’t seem to find anything they like about his domestic policies. They’ve made the connection between gas prices and food prices, and Obama’s policies. Many of them have told me they don’t like Eric Holder. Hmmm. Didn’t see that one coming. They were completely polarized on Trayvon/Zimmerman, and now none of them want to talk about it.
I know this is anecdotal, the sample size is tiny, and these are not inner city blacks I’m speaking of, but I don’t believe Obama can count on monolithic allegience this time.
Obama hasn’t delivered, and the novelty of making history isn’t there this time. In short, there’s just not going to be the same enthusiasm as there was in 2012. I suspect Obama will still get the same percentages as he did in 2008, but the overall numbers of black voters, and other traditionally Democratic groups, is likely to be down a bit. It won’t be just because of the gay issue, though it will be part of it.
Nope, still the same. Of course, small numbers will stay, but vast majority will march to the voting booth. For two reasons. First, racial identity. Second, government assistance. The second reason being the more important one.
Interesting, coach. Thanks.
Like FReeper A’elian’nation said yesterday in “The Friendless President”...

Obama has no roots in his own party. Like his Black friends say, He was never there for the struggle, and that applies more to the heavy democrat party lifting than the civil rights movement.
Need more evidence?...
HOORAY Glenn Beck!
“In short, hell no! The Blacks will crawl over broken glass to vote for Zer0. The support for gays is Zer0s way to get under moral Whiteys skin.”
In 2008 at this point Black enthusiasm to vote was at 78%. Today it is at 78%. Anyone who thinks this Gay “marriage” issue will improve that 48% is just wrong.
It is more important for evil to destroy American. Obama is a servant of evil.
17+ taxpayer paid vacations haven’t cost The Black vote.
Greater Black unemployment haven’t cost him the Black vote.
Chicago style corruption will never cost the Black vote.
Obama could be Mugabe and he still would get the Black Vote.
It will not matter one bit. The one’s who do vote will still be for the color of the skin. n/s
Eric Holder met with Black pastors passed out the talking points and all have received their marching orders. The Black vote will be astronomical this year again.
That is why we need to get everyone for Romney.
I don't like Romney and am not excited about him, but the alternative is unthinkable.
Hell, they’re so far up his a$$ that most would probably convert to homosexuals if he asked them - just to stick it to Whitey, ya know...
