More than two months after the voters cast their ballots in the race to replace Carl Kruger in the State Senate has finally come to a close. The Republican candidate, David Storobin, has won.
All the votes are in, disputed and otherwise. The count is fully over. David Storobin won by 16 votes, Mr. Storobins campaign wrote on his Facebook page. The election will be officially certified on Tuesday at 1:30 pm, but there will be NO MORE counting. David Storobin is the new Senator!
And, in a lengthy statement sent out by the Democrat in the race, Lew Fidler, Mr. Fidler conceded the race while maintaining that he felt Mr. Storobins campaign should not have won under New York State election law

The current 27th District, formerly represented by Carl Kruger, a Democrat who resigned and pleaded guilty to corruption charges, will no longer exist come January.
Its really very exciting, Mr. Storobin said Thursday. Not only as the first Republican to win in a long time, but as the first Russian-American, and as a Russian Jew, knowing that I could never do much in the Soviet Union.
The district was already to be eliminated in the November elections due to redistricting, but it’s still a great victory in a heavily DemocRAT-voting constituancy. David Storobin has the potential to be a rising star in the party.

The Democrat party worker will probably be floating in Jamaica Bay before the week is out.
no way! we did it again! Go NY Go!
Russian immigrant,American patriot!
I’m ticked off that we’re losing this seat and the Turner US House seat to redistricting right after we !@#$%% win them!!

Whoa! A Democrat that complains about early voting?
And he wants the "improperly handled" ballots disenfranchised?
At the very least, such poetic justice should be shouted from the rooftops in NYC!
I couldn't specifics of his complaint, but if his petard was indeed hoisted by such actions, let's copy it across NY.
Talk about two buzz-kills...
