The president referred to Polish death camps while awarding a posthumous Medal of Freedom to Polish professor Jan Karski, a hero of the anti-Nazi resistance. Poles believe they're blamed unfairly for the Nazi Holocaust, and the Foreign Minister led the outrage in a late night tweet.
The remark, which barely drew notice in America, is all over the Polish news today. On the country's largest television station:

All my Polish friends had family trapped in communist controlled Poland. Many of them emigrated here from communist Poland. That that experience didn’t permanently turn them against modern progressivism manifest for nearly a century in Democratic Party politics is proof that people never learn.
Perhaps as new emigrants to America they felt the pressure to fit in and in urban areas fell in with powerful, local Democrats. Yet, after decades of being kicked to the curb in exchange for their votes they still stay on the plantation. Why?
He says he’s a Harvard grad but so far nobody has seen a shred of proof. And then the claim that he is a “Professor of Constitutional law” when he has shown time and time again he knows absolutely nothing about the Constitution.

That is the finest post I have ever read.
I aim to please. :)
Muslims carry long grudges. In this case from 1683.
But, but, but,,,Dan Quayle misspelled potato!!!
perhaps it was done on purpose ... perhaps his “team” is turning on him and they’re sabotaging him...the beginnings of a coup no doubt. He’s so stupid he’ll read-off anything.
” Ten million Saudi petro dollars to found a chair for “Arab American” studies can buy all sorts of minor favors.”
Probably accurate.
Poles Demand Obama Apology For “Polish Death Camps” Comment
____________________________________________________________
Per the 2000 Census, there were 9 Million Poles in America. Today, twelve years later, I’m thinking there are probably 10 million. Let’s say that 5 million of them are voting-age adults. That’s probably not enough to make a BIG difference in the Election, unless it’s real close in a State with a significant Polish population. But, hey, the more people, Obama pisses off.......
I’m surprized Obama hasn’t presented himself with a Presidential honors award or some such.
perhaps for his tireless campaigning and mind numbing speechifying and photo ops.
Yes, but while it may just be Poles who are "pissed off" the coverage of this will reinforce the idea that is settling upon many millions of voters that this guy is far, far out of his league in this office. The idea that Obama is just too stupid to be a national leader will gain even more adherents from such a bone-headed blunder. Dan Quayle's gaff is tiny tomatoes compared the abject stupidity that Obama displays here (and just about everywhere these days).
Actually, I think that’s an insult to most Morons. Obama has the tools, he just chooses to be ignorant.
He’s a dude from the big city at the rodeo riding the big bull for the first time. We’re just lucky he hasn’t gotten the ‘stuffing’ stomped out of him (and us) yet.
This guy is breathtakingly in over his head, and basically by choice.
In the 1976 Debate with Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford made a HUGE blunder when he said that Poland was not part of the Eastern Europen bloc nations under Soviet influence (not an exact quote). It is believed to this day that that was what cost him the Election; moreso than his pardon of Richard Nixon. It’s still talked about today. I wonder how many FReepers here remember that.
Wouldn’t it be great if Romney could find a way to hang this gaffe around Obama’s neck in a Debate?
Furthermore, I'd like for anyone on the Left to tell me how someone who "spent the last two years of high school in a daze" gets into Columbia University upon graduation.
I do remember that, and I remember that you could tell right away that Ford knew he had blundered and as much as he tried to talk it back, he couldn’t.
Of course, it is a different America now and we have someone in office not that far afield from the old Soviet Commissars...and he has endless time to get ready for that in a debate, with a media working overtime to protect him...but this was a bad blunder, the only way it could be worse for him is to have done it in the fishbowl of a Presidential debate.
He's probably of above-average intelligence (but not super-smart like a few of the Presidents), just lazy and ignorant, because he has had things handed to him all his life without having to put much effort into it. He sees the Presidency as alternating between playing golf and making campaign speeches. Any real work is left to others.
He went to Occidental College in L.A. first, but the question remains the same. Probably got extra points for being black and for being a foreign student.
