GOP Convention: Will it be an Ailes/Rove Production?

Posted on 05/27/2012 6:15:56 PM PDT by easyrighter

If it weren't for Sarah Palin, the last convention would have been the most uninspiring that I can recall going all the way back to Goldwater. Fox News has invested heavily in Obama's defeat. Can Rove and the Republican estblishment deliver or will Romeney insist on calling the shots given what happened in 2008. Any thoughts?

The mere thought of mitt calling the shots is one of the reasons I did not vote for him in our primary. I know many here think ABO, but I don’t like mitt.

I’ll be choosing from the following list of activities on GOP Convention day.

1.Taking my labrador on a hike around little Lake Tomahawk, WI..
2.Re-watching Downton Abbey’s entire last season.
3.Re-watching Donald Driver’s line dance and all of his other performances on DWTS.
4.Working on my Colin Firth scrapbook.
5.All of the above.

Sorry, won’t have time to catch the Mitt, Annie and Karl show, hosted by Brit Hume from Fox News Satellite in sunny Tampa.
But hear they’ll be serving Cousin’s subs. Buy one, get one free.

“Can Rove and the Republican estblishment deliver or will Romeney insist on calling the shots given what happened in 2008. Any thoughts?”

Willard and the nomenklatura are warp and weft. They are united and they will win. This is the life’s work of G. H. W. Bush, and it marks the extinction of conservative influence in the GOP. We are evicted. They have taken THEIR party back.

RINOS and Rove LOST to Obama in 2008. Another loss in 2012 dooms them - and will necessarily create an alternate political party that can take back America from leftists, liberals, democrat-lites, marxists, socialists, commies and and a GOP that continues to spit upon the tea party and conservatives. Romney is not now nor has he ever been the choice of mainstream America. The GOP (and RINOs) believe it’s “his turn.” It may well be the last turn of the GOP (and the shunning of RINOs) if their candidate loses.

Of course, but the question asked in this thread is:

GOP Convention: Will it be an GOP Convention: Will it be an Ailes/Rove Production?
?

The answer is yes, GOP Convention the Ailes/Rove Production Company will write the script for the conservatives and the TV viewing audience to follow, and excitement will be generated, and at the climax, all the diverse wings of the Party shall march forth united to help Our Nominee defeat the Evil Obamas!

Mitt Seemed to organize a pretty good Olympics and save it from financial ruin. I think the convention will be just fine!

Faux News will have a grand show with glamorous infobabes, whose legs will be the only reason to tune in. Otherwise, it will be a celebration of RINO-ism complete with the little man on the wedding cake.

I love Downton Abbey and taking my lab for a walk, but I shall be watching the entire Republican convention and enjoying it thoroughly.

Go team!

Yeah, it should be a boring convention. (rolling eyes)

Speeches from the new Republican governors in Wisconsin, South Carolina, Virginia, Michigan and Florida.

Plus throw in some good speeches from Alan West, Gov Christie, Newt, Gov Perry, Herb Cain, Rick Santorum and Sarah Palin.

Sounds like a real snoozer. (rolling eyes again)

It will be a sick corrupt convention of a sick corrupt party running a sick corrupt candidate.

I hope 40,000 Ron Paul supporters swamp the show!

I told Jim he should allow suitable ads on the site. Now I REALLY think he should, because with comments like yours conservatives are going to boycott this place.

I was at a family event today, and a political discussion ensued, a rarity because there are a wide variety of backgrounds, geographic influences and political opinions.

A former VP of Sales now unemployed at 60, a doctor from Connecticut who is the son of a bigtime Democrat donor and frequent delegate going back to Adlai Stevenson, a staunch Democrat farmer, still active and farming in his eighties, and me.

We all agreed, Obama has got to go. The Connecticut doctor said these aren’t Democrats, they’re thinly disguised communists. The elderly still-Democrat farmer said it pained him to agree but he did. The now unemployed former VP of Sales was absolutely irate about the whole thing, and said he’d spent every bit of the free time forced upon him to get that b*tard out of office.

No one was enthused about Romney. He’d better milk the ABO anger for all its worth because there is no excitement for him whatsoever.

It’ll be a dud, with little or no enthusiasm. The only thing that will be notable will be how shabby they treaty Palin and the SarahPAC booth once they set up shop and suck all the air out of the convention hall.

” - - - It may well be the last turn of the GOP (and the shunning of RINOs) if their candidate loses.”

Sometimes the obvious needs to be repeated. Right now the are 50-50.

The Texas GOP Primary is next week. Think about that, the largest block of GOP primary voters ballots have not been cast yet. Will I have to vote for Crazy Uncle Ron? We shall see. And then the TX GOP Convention (I will be there, and do not expect it to be Mitt love affair).
