Obama Calls Romney Speech 'A Cow Pie of Distortion' By Kristen Welker
DES MOINES, IA President Barack Obama delivered one of his most direct attacks against Mitt Romney here Thursday night, painting Romney as an out-of-touch corporate raider.
At this event, held before an enthusiastic crowd of 2,500 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, Obama reminded the crowd that Romney said corporations are people, while stumping in Iowa last August during the Republican primary. The president said there may be value in Romneys experience in corporate buyouts, but its not in the White House.
He also noted that the former governor doesnt talk about his record in Massachusetts.
Speaking directly to Iowans, Obama used local lingo to slam Romney: Governor Romney came to Des Moines last week and warned of a prairie fire of debt, he said. But he left out some facts. His speech was more like a cow pie of distortion.
Then he quipped, I dont know whose record he twisted the most mine or his.
Obama warned his supporters that this race would be tougher than 2008 and argued that he represents the future and Romney the past. "We don't need another political fight about ending women's right to choose or getting rid of Planned Parenthood," Mr. Obama said as the crowd erupted into cheers.

“The most surreal moment in my life was when Obama was elected. I knew only one thing at that moment and that was that God is very angry with this nation.”
Carter was a warning, and Clinton was a spanking.
This nation has killed about 10X as many babies as the Third Reich did Jews.
My tagline applies to character as well as a tool of judgement.
“Behold the spectacle of the President of the United States referring to excrement.”
I guess he’s done “looking for some ass to kick” over the BP Gulf spill.
The P in POTUS is for punk.
Obama is giving Romney a huge opening here. This is so easily flipped that only tone deaf Republicans could miss the opportunity, and I suppose we will. Romney needs to say:
... so, in response to Mr. Obama's latest rantings, are corporations people? My answer is simple. We as individuals have inalienable rights, given by God. We hold those rights as a matter of natural law, and they are reflected in the design of our constitution. Those rights are inherent. We do not surrender them when we come together in voluntary organizations.
So, are corporations people? Let me ask you this. More importantly, let me ask Mr. Obama this. Are churches people? Are civic organizations people? Are schools, nonprofit organizations, political groups, and other private associations people? Or does Mr. Obama think we surrender our God given rights when we gather together?
That's not a casual or careless question. This president is engaged in the most heinous assault on religious liberty in at least the last 150 years, and perhaps in American history. He clearly doesn't think that Christian churches are people. He's an advocate of comprehensive and onerous government controls on political speech. He would probably concede that freedom of speech gives you the right to say whatever you want in the privacy of your own living room, but the moment we come together as a group in the public square, he demands the power to dictate the terms, conditions, and amount of our speech. He clearly doesn't think that advocacy and political groups, including political parties, are people.
This president and the party he represents are militantly determined to micromanage the affairs of voluntary and civic organizations of all kinds; they seem to think that constitutional liberties are fine as long as we remain hidden in the catacombs, but the moment we step into the street, we are utterly creatures of government. That is the issue.
It needs to be wordsmithed, but you get the gist. This can be reversed and driven as a wedge at any number of overreaching lefist presumptions. The democrats are the slavery party. We are the liberty party, and we shouldn't be afraid to sound the trumpets.
I am not a big Romney fan. However I can't stomach the idea of ZERO with another 4. I'll take Mitt to replace the lying Kenyan.
I’m infuriated by that nonsense. Corporations are “persons” not “people”. The corporate person is what has legal status. But dumb lawyers and stupid economists like our president continue to ignore that corporations are composed of and deal with people - leadership, employees, investors, customers.
I am a big fan of the Citizens United decision. You either let the Koch brothers spend all they want to defend American prosperity or you deny John Corzine the right to spend $60 million to buy a Senate seat and a similar amount to buy a governorship. You either let corporations spend what they want or you deny unions the right to spend and activate their troops.
You should send that to the Romney campaign. It hits the right tone for Romney to use. It frames the debate in a clear way, while also putting Obama’s lack of class on display. It explains the control the dems want over our speech. Please find a way to get that to Romney’s people.
Several people in the crowd yelled back: We love you!
Thats what people in a courtroom at a sentencing say to their loved one as he is led out of court and taken to jail.
EXACTLY! Only a fool would stay home or vote third party.
This is part of Obama's tendency (as mentioned by Harry Reid) to slip into "dialects" that match the audience. He's just pandering to his base (i.e. talking "black" to blacks). Someone like Reagan would never stoop so low.
what a class act this asshole is......he cannot be un elected fast enough
Well LLS calls the president himself a piece of dog sh!t!
LLS
“In this case, its queer eye for the cow pie.”
In Obama’s case, it’s more likely brown eye for the queer guy.
"Ask yourself, 'Are you better off now than you were four years ago? Is it easier for you to go and buy things in the stores than it was four years ago? Is there more or less unemployment in the country than there was four years ago? Is America as respected throughout the world as it was?
“At this event, held before an enthusiastic crowd of 2,500 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds...” ???
You can get more Iowans than that for a cow milking contest.
At least he has not resorted to the Farahkan/Sharpton calls of F**k you whitey.
The likeability factor is fading fast for the American Idol POTUS...nothing left but the facade of an affirmative action beneficiary angry that people can’t accept his self-perceived brilliance.
We'll hear that in Obama's concession speech.
Mowgli: the classless asshole fake president
