You cannot understand the left if you do not understand that Leftism is a religion. It is not G0d-based (some Left-wing Christians' and Jews' claims notwithstanding), but otherwise it has every characteristic of a religion. The most blatant of those characteristics is dogma. People who believe in Leftism have as many dogmas as the most fundamentalist Christian.
One of them is material equality as the preeminent moral goal. Another is the villainy of corporations. The bigger the corporation, the greater the villainy. Thus, instead of the devil, the left has Big Pharma, Big Tobacco, Big Oil, the "military-industrial complex," and the like. Meanwhile, Big Labor, Big Trial Lawyers, and, of course, Big Government are leftwing angels. And why is that? Why, to be specific, does the left fear big corporations but not big government? The answer is dogma a belief system that transcends reason. No rational person can deny that big governments have caused almost all the great evils of the last century, arguably the bloodiest in history. Who killed the 20-30 million Soviet citizens in the Gulag Archipelago big government or big business? Hint: There were no private businesses in the Soviet Union. Who deliberately caused 75 million Chinese to starve to death big government or big business? Hint: See previous hint. Did Coca Cola kill five million Ukrainians? Did Big Oil slaughter a quarter of the Cambodian population? Would there have been a Holocaust without the huge Nazi state?
Whatever bad big corporations have done is dwarfed by the monstrous crimes the mass enslavement of people, the deprivation of the most basic human rights, not to mention the mass murder and torture and genocide committed by big governments.

Government is the religion of the sociopath.
“Rational People Fear Big Government, Not Big Business”
followed by:
“...and who has made the government bigger than ever before? And who has spent more than every single president before him COMBINED”
Prager’s point is well taken, but I agree its healthy to be very wary of both. Much of the evil government does it does in service of monied interests.
Fear both when they start working together.
That is when the real fun begins.

Gee, maybe its because businesses have actually provide a PRODUCT before they get your money, government not so much.....
Liberalism is the religion, abortion is its sacrament - and now same sex marriage is its litmus test. (or loyalty oath)
Libtards demonizes big business because they don't understand natural economic phenomena, and they have a prescientific worldview of economics which leads them to believe that big business is equivalent to evil spirits that oppresses the neoproletariat.Next they they believe that their protection from such harm lay in securing the aid of a more powerful benevolent spirit, such as the government.
Technically speaking, isn’t big business not following true free market principles when it’s in league with big government?
I believe that BIG GOVERNMENT and BIG BUSINESS would both be reduced greatly if one industry was eliminated completely.....BIG LOBBYISTS!! They are the direct tie between Government and Business and CONSTANTLY lobby for legislation to help themselves out at the detriment of others. Due to this, most legislation is focused on how it may affect this business or that business, this industry or that industry, but RARELY looks at the effects on the everyday American.
Jesus said "The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil."
And big government really, really loves money; especially that which it doesn't have, as evidenced by the national debt.
That said, there's much evil in a "merger" of the government and big-business; but then again, we call that cronyism and there's a song about it.
Since when did any competitor not have a preference for an uneven playing field? It was to relieve the excesses of 18th Century mercantilism in the form of corporations with royal stockholders that is why the founders designed limited government in the first place.
It is time to oppose the same sorry mistakes that McCain and the RINO Party made in 2008.
It is also time for us as Conservatives to recognize and avoid making the same sorry mistakes that WE made in 2008.
One mistake that we made in 2008 was to revert back to the old days when we were known as The Silent Majority. We grumbled, held our noses, and Caved-In as all good RINO sheep are expected to do.
Our Silent Caving-In in 2008 created the problem that MANY Conservatives refused to vote for McCain.
IF we behave in 2012 as RINO Sheep and Cave-In to whoever the RINOs endorse, nominate and support, then we Conservatives are no better than our RINO U.S. Representatives and Senators who always Cave-In.
This election is for ALL of the marbles! We cannot afford to play the old RINO game that caused the defeat of McCain to Marxist Obama in 2008.
Obama is much stronger politically now than he was against McCain in 2008, but the RINO Party refuses to consider that reality.
It is time to DUMP ROMNEY who is obviously to weak of a candidate to beat Obama.
The Delegates need to choose in an OPEN Convention a strong NON-RINO Nominee who can soundly defeat Obama, and coat-tail U.S. Senators and Representatives into Congress.
Romney is not that man: DUMP ROMNEY!
We must learn from the mistakes made by the McCain Campaign and rub the collective noses of the RINOs in it!
Romney is counting on the old Classical Conservative Cave-In.
I can hear Romney now: You have no choice but to vote for me. Ill be even more severely Conservative than I was when I rammed through Romneycare. Trust me, I know how The Economy works. Etc, etc., etc.
The battle to win back a CONSERVATIVE White House is starting to break wide open!
BTW, when the Federal Government becomes “to big to fail,” is it accurate to then call it a Dictatorship?
Who is the Ruler Volcker guy, anyway?
It is big government that gives big business the power to do bad things. Otherwise big business becomes small business or extinct.
Wrongo! It was big business that made big government, particularly the citizenship clause of the 14th Amendment that gave corporations equal protection as persons, written by two railroad lawyers, Bingham and Conkling.
Businessmen are more trustworthy than professors, preachers and politicians.
