First of all, not a newb.. just a purge victim from the primaries.
JimRob posted almost a month ago about a so called truce between Romney supporters and the rest of the FReeper community. Since then, it appears the left has little job to do in driving a wedge into the right wing, we are doing it still ourselves.
Were is this truce? How come all I see on here is Alinsky tactics of divide and conquer? Today there was a post about Evil Mittie and him fundraising with morning after pill distributors. And the "true blue conservatives" pounce, little do they know that this pill manufacturer is one of the largest generic pill manufactuyrers in the world.. who produce all kind of medicine, even Augmentin, Azithromycin and Cipro, common anti-biotics..
This so called truce makes me sick. Can't wait to read the next half-baked anti-Romney article and the zealot FReepers who will eat up its every word because it furthers the narrative of Romney that THEY want him to fit into.
I'm not upset that people have beliefs that won't "allow" them to vote for Romney.. but what really irritates me is this active campaigning against people who would support Romney.. what game are you trying to pull? To deliver us into 4 more years of Obama servitude, for what purpose?? It strengthens conservatives? Talk about a phyyric victory. If you don't support Romney fine, but we are all anti-Obama here.. lets stay on focus.
Iced coffee out the nose...
I thought you weren’t doing the zot thread anymore?
Understanding your question was intended to be rhetorical, the honest answer - if otherwise sensible conservatives actually convince themselves that re-electing Obama is the best option available - the GOP-E is more apt to conclude we’ve lost our flipping minds.
“Does the GOP-E think we are dumb, deaf and blind?”
Yes they do.....and why shouldn’t they? Most of us voted for McCain.....
One other seldom mentioned issue that bothers me about Romney is he protested in FAVOR of the war in Nam but HE didn’t go..hell NO!
Teenage Romney takes unpopular stance in favour of south-east Asian war
But his status as ‘Mormon missionary’ exempted him from the draft
Future GOP presidential candidate dressed in smart, preppy clothes
Romney’s father George was the Governor of Michigan at the time
Don’t get me started.. Gun control alone would prevent me from voting for him.. I have been feverishly looking for one of those enhanced opinions that we see here daily.. “My opinion is more important than yours because I thought of it “ I will vote down ticket but NOT FOR THE SMARMY ONE. read it and weep GOP FREE AT LAST, FREE AT LAST .. THANK GOD ALMIGHTY I AM FREE AT LAST..
“Don’t blame me I voted for Newt.”
Sounds like a good idea for a bumper sticker.
Please let me know if you want ON or OFF my Viking Kitty/ZOT ping list!. . . don't be shy.
“Gun control alone would prevent me from voting for him”
Some Romney supporter tried to tell me that the gun issue was a dead issue. I had to tell him that it was in fact my litmus test, and Romney flunked lunch by signing an assault weapons ban.
Looks like you are already on a roll:) ya know it is one thing to protest against the war and run to Canada but it is a damn crime to protest in FAVOR of the war and run to France.
“Yep. As far as I know, everyone who goes on SS cancels their health insurance the same day or very shortly after.”
Many patients have both SS and private insurance, but I believe once they have SS their private insurance is capped mandatorily by the Feds at a low rate, and, if the doctor participates in SS, he/she is guilty of Medicare fraud if he/she accepts a co-pay to make up for the lost revenue. If a doctor opts out of Medicare, the doctor can never opt back in, and is forever thereafter ineligible to bill patients with it.
I think that’s how it works.
Since Romney’s team has already put out hints that RomneyCare is allegedly better than ObamaCare, and that it is impossible to repeal ObamaCare, we will likely still wind up with RomneyCare on a national level along with a single pay system, albeit we’ll get there with a flourish of pro-market sounding propaganda. The same can be said about his tax policies, which he has already hinted that he will pay for tax cuts not by a focus on cutting spending, but on a removal of deductions and alleged “loopholes” people have on things like state property or income taxes. In Mass., Romney raised taxes and fees to the point that the state would have been last in business growth if not for Hurricane Katrina.
IOW, we will not be better off with Mitt Romney. And the GOP, as per usual, will not resist Romney the same way they would resist Obama.
There is nothing to celebrate here, unless you’re gullible and buy all that Romney is selling. He’s a con-artist, not too far removed from old Joe Smith.
Thank You for the ping TOL!
Unfortunately, no...we are not all opposed to 0bama here. In fact, I am convinced there is a hard core of support for 0bama here on FR. How else do you explain the endless campaign against the GOP nominee? Don’t want to vote for a candidate? Ok, don’t vote for him; you’ll help the other guy, but that’s life. But to carry on a relentless campaign against 0bama’s only serious challenger? There is one reason and one reason only for that behavior: You want 0bama to have a second term.
I don't want Romney or Obama. I didn't want Obama or McCain. I didn't want Clinton or Dole.
I didn't vote for Bush I or Bush II.
The GOP just isn't delivering candidates that I can vote for.
