Why Kenyan Birth Claim Was No 'Fact Checking Error'
American Thinker ^ | MAY 18, 2012 | Jack Cashill

Posted on 05/18/2012 11:33:25 PM PDT by RobinMasters

No sooner did the literary agency brochure in which Barack Obama was said to be Kenyan-born surface than the media went to work to deep-six it.

"This was nothing more than a fact checking error by me - an agency assistant at the time," Miriam Goderich, now a named partner in the literary agency, Dystel & Goderich, wrote in an emailed statement to Yahoo News, which was then picked up ABC News. "There was never any information given to us by Obama in any of his correspondence or other communications suggesting in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii. I hope you can communicate to your readers that this was a simple mistake and nothing more."

This confession rings false to the point of preposterous for any number of reasons. Let us start with the obvious. At the time, 1991, the Acton & Dystel agency listed 90 clients, Obama among its least significant. How likely is it that Goderich would have remembered enough about a 1991 "error" to know it was hers, especially since it went uncorrected through several revisions until changed in 2007? To make this claim credible, there would have to be an existing paper trail leading to an Obama submission in which he lists an Hawaiian birth. I am confident that there is no such submission.

It’s not like the editor could actually do any factchecking. Hawaii never had a birth certificate for Obama.

True, it could have been an implication that his parents were able to confer American status upon a Kenyan child. If Barack was not ineligible he was a big fat liar... how long do you think it would take for the questions to get back to him “Oh Barack! I never knew you were born in Kenya! In what village?”

If any Republican were found to have that big a lie in his/her past, do you think he/she would last even through the primaries?

I try to watch my html, but I think there's an auto-feature that's trying to anticipate my “cut and paste” that's chopping my typing to pieces.
And I don't catch the rewrite until after it post.

I guess depending on OS and browser you could get outsmarted by the software. Maybe there is a browser setting to stop that.

I get irritated by the new Google, how in its default haste to pop a page of results in front of me as I type before I’m even done it steals keystrokes from appearing in the search form. But FR has no such javascript.

Republicans don't have "the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience" protecting them.
And the LAME Stream Media is all over "the air".

I've got Window XP SP3 that I working off of, now.
I bought an I-Max about 8 months ago, and let it at my brothers, thinking I'd be back in a week to pick it up.
But "life happened" and I haven't got back to Florida since.
Hopefully, I'll get it soon.

Windows XP is a well behaved old veteran. I’m thinking browser. Does it happen with both IE and Firefox?

I mostly use Opera, currently 11.64 version. But I keep too many "tabs" open, bouncing from one to the other, gathering information for post.

That is an interesting comparison. In the early days of radio broadcasting technology, some Christian ministries balked at the idea of using “airwaves” because the air of planet earth is, as the bible reports, infested with demons. Technically speaking strictly, air isn’t needed for anything more than the survival of people manning the systems — it would work equally well in the deep vacuum of outer space. I don’t think we have anything but a humanly made pun here. It still so happens that American news is biased towards wickedness.

I hear Opera is nice but never bothered to give it a serious check-out. Firefox might behave better, or Opera could have a setting to stop the behavior you are getting. No fun having the browser try to out-think your own HTML.

Speaking of which, a guy came by the church where I serve as a musician about a decade ago, and claimed that its CARPET was full of demons! Our pastor bade the fellow a polite but sincere goodbye. I haven’t met any demons in the church carpet yet, although it’s getting kind of ripped up from being shampooed and vacuumed and stuff being pushed over it.

I got into too many viruses with FireFox.
Opera updates about once every two weeks. I like it.
I just need to slow down my typing and recheck my work.
Two, I'm not as young as I once as, and I could be getting dyslexic.

Hitlary is an opportunistic skank, but I doubt that she is a Marxist.

What do you call someone who wrote their college thesis on Saul Alinsky?

What do you call the author of the original socialized health care plan?

What do you call someone who openly calls herself a Progressive?

Hillary Clinton is a Marxist (video 0:43)

hillary: 'I'll take your money.' (video 3:10 "You will be automatically enrolled..." {in health care})

Hillary Clinton on Oil Profits (video 0:36 "I want to take those profits...")

Dick Morris Compares Hillary's UN Tactics to Communist Regime (video 1:10)

Hillary: We'll take your money for 'common good' "Many of you are well enough off that ... the tax cuts may have helped you," Clinton said, according to the Associated Press. "We're saying that for America to get back on track, we're probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good."

Hillary Clinton's dedication to Marxist-communist ideology makes 0bama seem like a kid with a Karl Marx comic book collection.

Sorry to say it, but this won't have legs.Nothing will be done about it. There is no collective will in the congress to do it .Barry will be on the ballot in all 50 states and, if re-elected, now unfettered by having to face an election, will have four more years to dismantle the United States. Of course, this is only my opinion.
I share your opinion completely. Obama could publicly admit that he was born in Kenya and the media, the Democrats, the Republicans, the National Review, Ann Coulter, Mark Steyn and just about everyone else would say something like "look, he was born in Hawaii, so can we please talk about something else".

Nothing is going to come of this. Nothing.

Questions about his birth. Questions about his schooling. Questions about his radical associations. Questions about his Islamic "Christian" church. None of those questions (and many, many more) will ever be asked or answered.

Period. End of story.

Have you ever read

These books are not for the spiritually weak and should be read with caution.
Be careful reading them, and don't quit your Bible reading.

But they will give you insight into the spirit world and how they thwart our every move.

I love Lewis’s book and it really isn’t a “danger, high voltage” work. It’s a perfectly logical (and funny) script about how tempting devils might approach humanity, being bent on evil and being quite obtuse to goodness. Hell is, is a sense, a very ridiculous place. I know nothing about the other books. People should be very careful if attempting to address the angelic/demonic world directly, but there’s nothing wrong with wisdom in dealing with that world’s side effects.

He's Barack Sr.'s other mixed race son. Notice that he doesn't look much like Barack Sr. either...

That's because Mark is always shown looking at the camera and his colour is deliberately lightened, there's only ONE honest image of him out there:

Pronounced racial characteristics don't carry over when people of different races intermarry...

Really? Then all I can say is Mark must have gotten more than his fair share or you are deliberately bee essing.

The "Conservative Movement," such as it is, is not helped in my opinion, by the fact that many of its most ardent public spokesmen are former rock'n'roll DJs. Rush is a broadcasting phenomenon, probably the best that ever was. However, Ron, I believe his real job is to sell Sleep Number Beds and Gold Bars to folks who ALREADY espouse the views about which he speaks.

Of course, we tend to stand with those who explain to us what we already believe. Where I have a problem, besides Natural Born Citizen issue, and RL's total shutdown of Sheriff Joes inquiry into the validity of the BC, The SS, and the Selective Service issues, is that Right Wing Talk Radio seems to be powerless to make the Conservative Argument to undecided voters. Indeed, it doesn't even seem capable of getting out the "Conservative" vote in urging people to vote for the more conservative of the two parties' candidates.

The phenomenal popularity of "Right Wing Talk Radio," again in in my opinion, is because it is documenting the rise of such grass roots movements as The Tea Party, not leading them.

To return to the legitimacy of BHO, Jr., for me it would be enough if RL merely validated the existence of the issue, rather than completely ignore it.
