I mostly use
Opera, currently 11.64 version. But I keep too many "tabs" open, bouncing from one to the other, gathering information for post.

I hear Opera is nice but never bothered to give it a serious check-out. Firefox might behave better, or Opera could have a setting to stop the behavior you are getting. No fun having the browser try to out-think your own HTML.
