Mitt Romney says he rejects efforts to use President Barack Obama's former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, in ads attacking the president, insisting the campaign should remain focused on the economy.
"I repudiate the effort by that PAC to promote an ad strategy of the nature they've described," Romney said in an interview with Townhall.com. "I would like to see this campaign focus on the economy, on getting people back to work, on seeing rising incomes and growing prosperityparticularly for those in the middle class of America."

A gentleman and an idiot.
Willard evidently thinks Obamao is “a decent person and a person you do not have to be scared of as president of the United States.”
This guy is another McCain like loser. Hey pal, the dems play full contact politics, if you are not willing to go out there and mix it up with them, leave the race to someone who will. We don’t need another milktoast candidate, we need one with the heart of a winner.
” “I repudiate the effort by that PAC to promote an ad strategy of the nature they’ve described,” Romney said “
Don’t believe it.
Romney:
“He’s (Obama) a nice guy, but..”
That didn’t take long. Does he really think he’s going to beat hussein on his looks?
So Romney is committed to losing just as McCain and Dole were before him. What a surprise. Why do they even bother if they know they plan to blow the campaign?
We're doomed.
Muttley only trashes conservatives.
If you don’t use the TRUTH against Obama, then you will lose just like McCain!! IDIOT! And people wonder why I am thinking of not voting! I would at least like to see Romney ACT like he really WANTS to WIN!! No more of this being NICE because Obama is half black. Sorry but that’s how I see it!! His failure as president speaks for itself!
There are two ways to look at this: either he is raising the white flag, or he is allowing the PAC to do his dirty work while he remains above the fray. In either case, if I was the PAC, I would ignore Romney and charge full speed ahead.
McCain redux? “I have to tell you he is a decent person and a person that you do not have to be scared of as president of the United States” and “He’s a decent family man that I happen to have disagreements with on fundamental issues” ~Senator John McCain on then Senator Obama.
Exactly. Someone tell Mittens that the Dems will not refrain from attacking him on his religion just because he has made this magnanimous gesture.
As I posted in another thread on this matter, a little while ago:
The idea that one can sit in the pews for two decades, listening to a Pastor who denounces America in strident tones, and then claim that it is unfair for people to consider that attendance in assessing that congregant's judgment, is merely silly.
But what really should wake people up, is that Obama is actually well to the Left of Rev. Wright. Rev. Wright may not like White people, but he does at least believe in urging his congregants to take personal responsibility. Not so, Obama. (Race & Ethnic Politics--2008.)
Whether the far Left likes the point, or not: We need to make sure that every American understands just how inappropriate has been Obama's "preparation" for public office--any public office!

Also, to some extent, it plays into the mantra of the left. "They don't like Obama because he's black, and they're racists." The truth is that we don't like Obama because he's a socialist, and people are going to be casting their votes on economic issues, not on Wright.
This issue might have had a chance if it was hit very hard back in 2008. Now, it's going to sound like a retread. Swing voters vote on the economy.
