Fr. Norman Weslin has passed away

Raymond Soileau just informed me that Fr. Norman Weslin died yesterday, 5/16 about 7:30pm.  He had been suffering with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.  He was living in Traverse City, Michigan.  He was married before becoming a priest (was in the Army I think) and his wife is from Michigan so I'm sure he'll be buried with his wife.  She died from a drunk driver hitting their car.  He was arrested in the Notre Dame / Obama scandal which I think you may have seen it first hand.  Raymond tells me some of the America's Party leaders knew him.

Interesting that the deaths of a pop singer and a Kennedy get more notice on the board than this man’s.

Although I’m not Catholic, I’ve long admired traditional Catholic standing up for the rights of the unborn. What Notre Dame did in this case, both in arresting this wonderful giant of the faith as well as awarding an honorary degree to that worthless proabort POS in the White House,is beyond reprehensible.

Saint recognition is a ceremonial formality of certain parts of the church, but it seems to me from the way this pastor lived the call of his faith, there’s no need for questioning. He’s a believer and he’s there in heaven now.

It sure didn’t sound very Christian of Notre Dame. I mean I could see if they wanted protesters to gather only in spots where they would not physically obstruct the audience, the _resident and his entourage, but this wasn’t the issue. He wasn’t in anybody’s way there, he was just an inconvenient sight for Notre Dame’s secular mind.

Father Norman has faced four federal charges for praying on his knees on a public sidewalk in front of a Planned Parenthood killing center.

Amendment 1 Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Same here.

I'm an evangelical, but many of the most committed pro-lifers I know all across the land are Catholics.

We stood with our Catholic brethren at Notre Dame. Among them were the two gentlemen you see in the pictures assisting Fr. Weslin as he made his way onto the ND grounds.

I'm pretty sure the men with the crosses on their caps are Gregory Thompson and Dave Daubenmire, both evangelicals, if I'm not mistaken.

The defense of the innocent unborn transcends denominations.

The equal protection of all persons in their God-given, unalienable rights, starting with the right to life, is the cornerstone of American liberty.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men..."
