RFK Jr.’s wife hangs herself

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s estranged wife, Mary, who battled her husband’s rumored philandering by turning to alcohol and prescription drugs, hanged herself in a barn on their Westchester estate yesterday, sources told The Post.

The 52-year-old mother of four — the latest victim of a family dynasty cursed with tragedies — may have taken her own life because she was haunted by her broken marriage, her friends lamented.

“She was deeply troubled, abusing alcohol and prescription meds,” a close family friend said. “She had cause. She was used up and tossed away by Bobby. That was awful.”

Hotchkiss identified what she called the seven deadly sins of narcissism:
  • Shamelessness: Shame is the feeling that lurks beneath all unhealthy narcissism, and the inability to process shame in healthy ways.
  • Magical thinking: Narcissists see themselves as perfect, using distortion and illusion known as magical thinking. They also use projection to dump shame onto others.
  • Arrogance: A narcissist who is feeling deflated may reinflate by diminishing, debasing, or degrading somebody else.
  • A narcissist may secure a sense of superiority in the face of another person's ability by using contempt to minimize the other person.
  • Entitlement: Narcissists hold unreasonable expectations of particularly favorable treatment and automatic compliance because they consider themselves special. Failure to comply is considered an attack on their superiority, and the perpetrator is considered an "awkward" or "difficult" person. Defiance of their will is a narcissistic injury that can trigger narcissistic rage.
  • Exploitation: Can take many forms but always involves the exploitation of others without regard for their feelings or interests. Often the other is in a subservient position where resistance would be difficult or even impossible. Sometimes the subservience is not so much real as assumed.
  • Bad boundaries: Narcissists do not recognize that they have boundaries and that others are separate and are not extensions of themselves. Others either exist to meet their needs or may as well not exist at all. Those who provide narcissistic supply to the narcissist are treated as if they are part of the narcissist and are expected to live up to those expectations. In the mind of a narcissist there is no boundary between self and other.

But what would Obama’s interest be in offing her? The Kennedys lost their importance and influence years ago.

I’m sorry but what she did was reprehensible. She has children as young as 11, who will live with her suicide for the rest of their lives. She should have sought help. Where were her friends and relatives. Tragic all the way around.

Where a Kennedy and a death are concerned, one must always wonder whether what you see is what you get.........

“I’m sorry but what she did was reprehensible.”

So quick to judge, based solely upon news from totally unreliable media?

You said Hussein. I didn’t understand the connection. Please explain. I’m a bit dimwitted.

BTW, there will be an autopsy. One of our local news stations made no mention of how Mrs. Kennedy died. Others are saying “apparent suicide. “ They are being careful not to call her death anything at this point. To me, that is prudent journalism, but it could also be part of the media’s worship of the Kennedys. Whatever...it’s better than the national media’s rush to judgment.

Sorry, I was giving you an example of where they do have ambition, even if they don’t have brains. I’m more suspicious of the one for whom her demise was most convenient — her husband.

Perhaps she did seek help, but it wasn’t enough.

Honestly, most lay people such as relatives and friends, don’t really know how to deal with the situation. Many people don’t recognize the trouble a person is in until it’s too late.

A relative of mine committed suicide years ago. He was always laughing and carrying on. No one noticed anything was wrong. He had been to our house that afternoon, joking with my Dad and making us all laugh. The next morning he was found dead. And no, he didn’t leave a note. You just never know.

She had four kids. She had no right to do this to them. She was every it as selfish as her husband. Then again, a person of good character would not marry into that family.

“Guilt, Escape or Revenge.”

My choice would be “all of the above”: guilt for being stupid enough to marry the POS; escape as in trying to get away from/rid herself of the same; revenge for all his transgressions against her.

Well, I guess it would be cheaper to off the missus instead of paying alimony and child support. When Joe Sr. was alive, junior would have talked to Grandpa once and the problem would be resolved immediately. Joe would know who to call. I don’t think the current crop of Kennedys would know where to find a “fixer.” These are not the sharpest knives in the drawer.

re Romans 8:38-39 (NIV) 38: For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39: neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

A passage in which I take great comfort. Who among us can know what pain this lady felt? Thank you for posting.

Did you miss post# 31 or are you trying to make a point in which post# 31 wasn’t a high enough post count?
