German mark if they bring those back...

Real estate and lead.
To wit: food & timber resources, and the means to protect them.
Gold is only useful for holding value thru to the other side of the event, if you have enough to spare getting there.

I’m in agreement on the RE & lead.
RE in arable land, to be specific, with trees.
Silver is for trading.
Gold is for holding value to “the other side”, and I think it would be the last thing on the ordered list of things to put your currency in.

What a hoot! I’ve not seen that since it was originally broadcast live back in...whenever. And I wasn’t a SNL fan even then. Better things to do on a Saturday night. Well, at least, I thought back then that they were better.

Dont forget to pick up an extra 50 pounds of flour or rice at Costco on the way home, that $17 purchase will be worth a lot soon... Glad I got my heirloom seeds last month.

Americans will not be safe anywhere from the revenuers.
They will not allow America to feed itself. All food grown will be consficated for the good of the people and dispatched to whomever offers the most to the parasites and predators in the swamp.
That means to China most likely. The people in charge are pure evil and have no qualms whatsoever when it comes to tens of millions starving to death in the good old USA.

Get wheelbarrows. Must carry enough Euros to buy a loaf of bread. This is keeping the dollar afloat, by making it look good in comparison.

Nah, there's not going to be a big collapse flowing from this. The Eurozone has been prepping for this for the last two years, and they can absorb Greece bowing out. Letting Greece go likely will induce the other sick southern Euro countries to do what is necessary to avoid the same fate.
What it does do is signal that the days of profligate spending have nasty consequences. If we learn from it, we can still save ourselves.

No man, that’s a very specific thought!
“50 pounds of flour or rice”
It better not be yet. I pray not.

"This is Americas future if we dont get rid of Obama."
It's gonna take a lot more than just getting rid of Obama, I'm afraid.

These Greeks are better off than me (and many other Americans); we have nothing in the bank. They’d think we were there to apply for loans...

“US $ is the cleanest shirt in the dirty laundry pile.”
I’d say it is actually the dirtiest.
The laundry inspectors are just blinded by the dazzle from the glare off the US Dollar printing presses.

A billion here, a billion there. Pretty soon youre talking real money. No, just a lot of worthless fiat. Now, if it was actually backed by something then, we'd be talking real money.

I once bunked with an Argentinian who survived being on the ‘Desaparecidos’ list of the 1980s. Bad times for those folks. At first, I was an ugly American. I apparently grow on people.
