Whitaker — who now runs the Urban Health Initiative (UHI) out of the University of Chicago Medical Center — often vacations with the first family, is a regular golf partner of Obama and has organized Chicago-area parties when the president visits the Windy City.

Was there any tie between Eric Whitaker and the phone call received by Larry Sinclair “from the campaign” which may then tie Eric Whitaker to Donald Young via Larry? Inquiring minds want to know, but the death of Donald Young has become the radioactive third rail of this entire story-line. Now that “His Gayness” is slowly slithering out of the closet, these issues should be the sunshine beaming into the closet as its door is being opened.
The stench, it grows.

One thing that should be said along with the Michelle-connection is how she came to be in that position at UIC.
By virtue of the largesse of an Illinois Congressional committee which her husband served on, UIC was provided a large sum of grant money to develop community out-reach programs. The Wookie was “promoted” to manage the UHI program.
Her efforts resulted in a program that sent uninsured and under-insured patients to the city-run hospitals.
Whitaker served as the state’s director of public health from 2003-2007, but his time in the post was not without controversy: Whitaker oversaw a state board responsible for approving medical construction projects, which Rezko utilized to facilitate political kickbacks, according to testimony delivered during Rezko’s trial.
Rezko was eventually convicted, while Whitaker was never accused of any impropriety.
