Dear --
Today, I was asked a direct question and gave a direct answer:
I believe that same-sex couples should be allowed to marry.
I hope you'll take a moment to watch the conversation, consider it, and weigh in yourself on behalf of marriage equality:
I've always believed that gay and lesbian Americans should be treated fairly and equally. I was reluctant to use the term marriage because of the very powerful traditions it evokes. And I thought civil union laws that conferred legal rights upon gay and lesbian couples were a solution.
But over the course of several years I've talked to friends and family about this. I've thought about members of my staff in long-term, committed, same-sex relationships who are raising kids together. Through our efforts to end the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy, I've gotten to know some of the gay and lesbian troops who are serving our country with honor and distinction.
What I've come to realize is that for loving, same-sex couples, the denial of marriage equality means that, in their eyes and the eyes of their children, they are still considered less than full citizens.
Even at my own dinner table, when I look at Sasha and Malia, who have friends whose parents are same-sex couples, I know it wouldn't dawn on them that their friends' parents should be treated differently.
So I decided it was time to affirm my personal belief that same-sex couples should be allowed to marry.
I respect the beliefs of others, and the right of religious institutions to act in accordance with their own doctrines. But I believe that in the eyes of the law, all Americans should be treated equally. And where states enact same-sex marriage, no federal act should invalidate them.
If you agree, you can stand up with me here.
Thank you,
Barack
Barack....Baarack....Baaaaraaaaaaccckkkk! Sounds like a cat barfing up a fur ball.
Barack’s view on the biblical institution of marriage:
He’s agin’ it.
That is something that the left always avoids when discussing the issue, along with the health implications of the lifestyle.
An accurate description of what makes a person a homosexual is disgusting and highlights the perversity of this particular proclivity.
Just as with everything of the left, they try to cover the truth in order to advance an agenda.
Note how flimsy and emotional his “defense” is. “You should support homo marriage because my daughters and I know some really great homo/lesbians and because it’s all about fairness and equality”.
Nowhere does he explain how, in anything but perception, homos are treated any differently than anyone else.
Hey Barack...
NO ONE CARES WHAT YOU THINK ANYMORE!!! Go Away!
Homos, in our society, are actually a privileged class, entitled to more protections and accomodations than others.
When President Obama says, “I think same sex couples should be able to get married”, he displays a willfully fabricated ignorance of our Constitution. By ignoring the essence of marriage as a spiritual concept, and not a civil institution or tradition, he negates the Bill of Rights prohibition of government attacking religious freedom.
Classical Semitic theology emphasizes searching for and relating to an infinite God. Genesis tells of God responding by creating heterosexual marriage as the earthy manifestation of the absolute unity and love He seeks with each person. The Old Testament continuously addresses this subject by identifying God as masculine, and allowing humans to become feminine in relation to Him. The concept finds further emphasis in the New Testament where the church becomes the Bride of Christ
For tens of millions of Jewish, Christian, and Muslim believers their First Amendment rights decay as Obama redefines marriage. For these believers homosexual behavior resides among the myriad sins entrapping humanity; humanity living in a fallen world with a fallen nature. For them any subsequent theological reasoning must derive from the understanding homosexual relationships separate believers from God.
For Obama these people lack Constitutional protection and are guilty of at least cultural prejudice.
Differently than WHAT? Tell me the moms in the coffee klatch are going to invite some guy's same-sex partner to gossip with them just became he decides to take on the title "wife." (Oh, wait, I forgot that all the moms in the elitist world Obama inhabits are high-paid executives and would not dream of gossiping over coffee with anybody.)
0bama, what you married would make me (if I were a man) think twice about being straight.....
“I’ve always believed that gay and lesbian Americans should be treated fairly and equally. I was reluctant to use the term marriage because of the very powerful traditions it evokes.”
Well, d’uh. The “very powerful traditions it evokes” is because the tradition of one man/one woman means MARRIAGE.
You can call 2 men or 2 woman many things but MARRIED isn’t one of them-all that tradition and what not.
His belief that there is a “Right to sodomy”, beyond even being illogical and stupid and destructive to human beings, comes from his Satanic mentor—Alinsky, where excrement and lifeforce unite for their total destruction of the Judeo-Christian Ethic. Alinsky worshipped the devil—so does zero.
Homosexual “marriage” (such Marxists distortion of English) will destroy the Christian paradigm that was America. It is unconstitutional because it goes against the Laws of Nature....but that doesn’t stop the Marxist in chief.
The Big Lie of “homosexual marriage” marches on with promotion in the schools of this Atheism and in Hollywood-— by the very producers who sodomized those Corey boys.....Jerry Brown need those Satanic producers in prison—probably the group that gave millions to zero for supporting and promoting their lifestyle.
Yo Barry! How much money did you take away from the homos last night in Hollyweird?! Those “direct answers” can really pay off.
Sounds like someone who had beans for breakfast.
zero believes that Sasha and Malia’s friends should be denied either a mother or a father to raise them.
How nice.
