An analysis of recent jobs figures at Investor.com reveals a disturbing development: the biggest beneficiaries from the economic recovery are Boomers, while everyone else is getting the shaft.
Since the Obama administration took office, there has been an epochal shift. Young workers have continued to lose jobs and incomes, while older workers have actually gained ground.
In fact, the Obama administration has seen a boom in the prospects of the 55+ crowd; their (I should say ‘our’) employment stands at a 42 year high. Net, there are 3.9 new jobs for people over 55 since the recession began in December 2007, but there are 8.1 million fewer jobs for the young folks since that time.

That's because the best way to get a job is to already have a job, and the boomers aren't giving up their jobs to retire because they know that the pension fund dominoes are going to fall any time now.
Well duh. Who are you going to lay off? The seasoned vets or the temps. Who are you going to hire, people with a resume or people just entering the workforce? Yeah, I’m a boomer and doing well in the last two years. Working long hours and carrying twenty somethings along the way to do it. If I were unemployed right now, my age would be a minus in being hired to a good job. I suppose someone got paid government money to come to this concccclusionc

For one thing, older workers know how to work. They do not spend the day on cellphones, call out sick once or twice a week, or steal from the register.
That’s not quite all of it. The younger they are the more imbecilic on average they are as a result of the influence of government schools and the media. The average 20 year-old lacks the education and character to work at a car wash.
There are, of course, exceptions, and your mileage may vary.
Plus, they have been conditioned to believe that delayed gratification (only buying things that you have the cash to pay for) is something that only a mentally ill person would do.
Interesting… because Pew Research just published a report showing the ‘boomers’ where the hardest hit group in the long term unemployed category.
OK, is this trend by design or an unintended consequence?
Is this just another Zero ploy to stir up unrest in the young and to further class jealousy?
Nah, Zero can’t pull that one off, I figure it is just another case of Obummer doing his thing trying to stall the economy while not bringing down the whole enchilada until after the election.
I think all the guys who say Romney is the same as Obama are gonna get some learning in the school of hard knocks if Obama manages to get re-elected. They may be similar in many respects, but unlike Zero, I think Romney has some respect for this country.

Maybe, just maybe, Obama isn't concerned about reelection, as he never intends for the election to occur. Please do not hesitate to criticize here, but keep in mind the economic situation is very shakey right now, so an economic collapse used as an excuse to take over the nation in a dicitatorship isn't unreasonable.
Funny. That first graph sure doesn’t look like employment for those 55 and older is at a 45 year high.
I certainly would not be surprised at anything Obama tried. The stopper for that scenario, IMO, is that he couldn’t count on US troops to fire on civilians.

There are all sorts of games that can be played with segmentation as well as statistics. Note the missing word: rate. The 55+ age cohort has been rapidly increasing in total numbers as well as perxentage of population, so the segment has as well. That means that total employment can be at a 45 year high while unemployment can be at another high. Rate of employment or unemployment is one thing, total employment or unemployment is another. The same statement could be made, that unemployment is at a 45 year high, too, and be just as accurate. It’s actually likely that unemployment is at an all time high for 55+, since the rate is up there as is the total number within the segment, when compared to any past period, even the Great Depression. There were far fewer 55+ individuals overall then.
