An Evansville woman makes a shocking discovery after a yard sale purchase. She says all she wanted was a laptop case, but when she opened it she found a loaded handgun inside.
A lot of people find a lot of great deals at yard sales, but when Rhonda Milligan went to the Evansville Christian Life Center sale she got more than she bargained for.
Rhonda Milligan made several stops in her yard sale spree, one of those was here at the Evansville Christian Life Center on Kentucky Avenue. She bought a leather laptop case, but when she got home and opened the bag she was shocked to find a fully loaded revolver.
She says she believes the Christian Life Center was careless and did not check the bag before putting it up for sale. Milligan called police to meet her back at the Center, but by that time the facility was already closed.
She says she hopes sellers will be more careful, and that bargain hunters will take a second look before they buy.
Evansville police declined to comment on the incident on the scene. We also reached out to the Evansville Christian Life Center for comment, but those messages weren't returned.
Actually, your average gun has more brains than this ditz who doesn't have a mind at all. It was really funny to watch her removing the gun from the bag!
I just watched the video as suggested-—Geez! What a frickin’ idiot. Handling it with a pencil?? If it had a hair trigger, then she’d really would be crying. We’ve bred a country of dumbasses.
What an emotional psychopath. I would have been crying with joy had I found it.
I’ve slowed down on collecting somewhat since I reached more toys than my age and took up leather making...I would have started cutting the leather for it, first thing....then wet-formed and stamped it before final cutting and sewing...(Even got my own ‘Makers’ Stamp)
“How does this stuff get into the papers? Most normal people would go back to the church and tell them of the discovery or keep the gun, instead of complaining to a newspaper.”
I hope the cops arrest her for carrying concealed without a permit.
LOL!!!
Well, I’m used to my husband seeing other women; he’s been carrying-on with Little Debbie for years!
;)
Thanks for the clarification.
How could they know, unless the BGs were good enough to record the gun's SN at the scene of the crime? True, there could be a ballistics match up with something, but what are the odds of any random gun in private hands ever being tested for ballistics?
The S&W Model 36 was introduced in 1950, so there are a lot of possibilities that have a higher probability than use in a crime. Chances that wife or ex-wife was housecleaning late hubby or ex-hubby's stuff? Or someone died and relatives just gave away the owner's things. Or it was left behind in an eviction. BTW, I use Halliburton laptop cases for taking pistols to the range, so this can't be a unique method of storage. They look identical to the Halliburton pistol cases.
"Id have kept my mouth shut, but thats just me."
Oh, but that would be wrong. ;)
LOL!
“A Prize In Every Box!”
I have a friend who can’t even bear to look at a gun laying on a table. In her case I can understand, she was born in 1940/41 in Holland were as a very young child she witnessed people being rounded up by the Germans. Heard gunshots and may have even witnessed someone being shot. I know she says her father had to hide out in the woods so the Germans wouldn’t kill him. She is a pacifist now.
I’ll take the big box please.
I’ve never been that lucky!
Uh, do you have the address for the sale?

Two phrases stated as if in contrast, when they're in complete agreement! ;)
It says Evansville, so I think it's probably Indiana.
Most of what she remembers is terror. Her mother was German so I guess she blames the war on guns. Because Hey! without guns it wouldn't have happened, right? sarc//>>
You are correct. I have asked the Mod to correct the title. The vidio is so over the top, I suspect that we may be seeing an extortion set up. Lowell1775 wrote an excellent post (#32) on this possibility.
