AIM HIGH!
A college professor prepared a final exam for his students. The test questions were divided into three categories, and the students were instructed to choose questions from only one of the categories. The first category of questions was the hardest and worth fifty points. The second, which was easier, was worth forty points. The third, the simplest, was worth thirty points.
Upon completion of the test, students who had chosen the hardest fifty-point questions were given As. The students who had chosen the forty-point questions received Bs. Those who had settled for the easiest thirty-pointers were given Cs.
Some of the students were frustrated with the grading of their papers and asked the professor what he was looking for. The professor leaned over the podium, smiled, and explained, 'I wasnt testing your book knowledge. I was testing your aim.'"
Robert Kriegel put it this way: "The key is to have a dream that inspires you to go beyond your limits."

Good evening, Kathy!
*HUGS*
A Blessed Lord's Day to you and yours!
Thanks very much for tonight's Sunday Chapel thread. Aim high, indeed! My 8th grade teacher, a Benedictine nun at St. Anthony's School in Washington, DC, was the first person I heard say "Low aim, not failure, is a disgrace." That quote has stuck with me since 1961. Rest in Peace, Sr. Margretta! You taught us well indeed!

A Fathers Invitation
May 6, 2012
The Old Testament book of Ezekiel tells of Gods judgment on His disobedient people. The Lord called them a rebellious nation that has rebelled against Me (2:3) and impudent and stubborn children (v.4). The graphic descriptions of their sin and the violent images of their coming punishment are appalling. Yet in the darkest moments of Gods lament over His people held captive in Babylon, His love shines through in His call for them to walk again on the path of life.
Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies, says the Lord God. Therefore turn and live! (18:31-32).
God does not ask us to feel worse than we already do about our failures or to try harder to keep His commands. Instead, He invites us to receive a fresh source of motivation and strengtha new heart and a new spirit from Him (36:26-27).
If youre feeling that youve wandered too far away from God and that He is through with you, its time to embrace the truth. Will you accept the Fathers invitation to turn and live today?
If youve rebelled and turned away
From what you know is true,
Turn back to GodHe will forgive;
He waits to pardon you. Sper
To enjoy the future, accept Gods forgiveness for the past.
Read: Ezekiel 18:25-32

PRAYERS GOING UP FOR OUR AMERICAN HEROES AND FOR OUR BELOVED NATION!
GEN. GEORGE WASHINGTON AND THE MARQUIS DE LAFAYETTE AT VALLEY FORGE
In the coldest and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting glory and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.
In like manner, let our prayers now rise for our heroes in the American military who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and keep them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, Amen.
SHADOWS AT ARLINGTON
Heavenly Father, Lord of the Nations, unto Your Divine Mercy we commend the souls of these who have fallen in the service of our Beloved Nation and in defense of the freedoms we hold dear. We pray that You gather them in Your loving embrace, that You cause Your countenance to shine upon them and that You vouchsafe their souls to dwell eternally in Your Divine Presence. Through Your Son, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.
