Mormonism and Islam are among the fastest growing religions in America, while just over half of all Americans are unaffiliated with any denomination, according to a major census of the countrys religious congregations published Wednesday.
The decennial census, released by the Association of Statisticians of American Religious Bodies in Chicago, found that the U.S. Muslim community had increased 160 percent from approximately 1 million in 2000 to 2.6 million in 2010.

250% more? And I didn’t want ANY.
mormonism is not growing quickly however since they are partnering with islam on many issues maybe they are just confused.
If a white man suspects any discrepency or error and it involves a non white, I am automatically deemed 'racist'
OK ... let the Somali's and the muslims and the mexicans and anyone else ... except white ... enter the country, both legal and illegal and guess what?
I'm a friggin' racist.
While the head of the Islamic empire is still 100% against the practice of any other faith in the homeland and those millions of so-called moderate muslims bow 5 times a day, every day to that nation and never once consider the hate that Islam imposes.
How many are prison indoctrinates and how many are foreign born “refugees” being funded by the Saudi state to colonize the Great Satan?
Just because a religion is big it doesn’t mean it’s the right one.
When the messiah comes Islam will be wiped out.
Peace on Earth will be established.
NO MORE ISLAM! NO MORE MUSLIMS!
Didn't LBJ say that when he was through the blacks will vote democrat for the next 100 years?
The only change is the democrats have added a few more shades to their constituency.
Thousands of former soldiers of the Iraqi army who defected were settled in the United States.
something says we’ll be paying a price for that down the road.
On a related story, the Jehovah Witness and Amish have claps hands to form a world wide conclusion against Peta to enhance solar power use with bovine gas.
Film at 11, 12, ah hell next tuesday, maybe never as another story with shiny things will take your attention away. What’s on sale at the mall?

Plenty of articles out there on how internet research is the mortal enemy of these two false faiths, EACH dependent upon one founder & self proclaimed “prophet”, and EACH dependent upon its “book of divine revelation” written solely by the same man/founder/”prophet”.
They’re bailing out of Islam and into Christianity in Africa & the Middle East & Iran, and they’re bailing out of Mormonism, too, unfortunately into atheism & agnosticism.
Knowledge is the mortal foe of these two paganisms. Note also the similarities between them, publically acknowledged by the Mormon “prophet” Joseph Smith himself.
Viva el Christo Rey!
Well, the article says it has grown 45% since the year 2000. That seems like quite a lot to me. Looks like there are approximately 1.9 million more Mormons now then there were 10 years ago, and Mormons are the only ones even remotely keeping pace with the growth of Islam. Seems like the Catholic, Evangelical Lutheran, Presbyterian, Episcopal and Baptist flocks are shrinking pretty noticeably.
Both religions began with polygamist leaders who believed their BOOK was the only book. Oh...God in Heaven help us.
How many bricks is that? 5k?
You can't have a religion that is too afraid to set standards and expect its members to live up to those standards. And you can't just ignore all the parts of the bible that are controversial, just to not ruffle any feathers and pull in ever larger numbers of peeps.
KANSAS CITY, MO. A former Kansas City woman who converted to Islam in 2005 said she was harassed for years at AT&T, and that the abuse boiled over in 2008 when her boss snatched her head scarf and exposed her hair.
A Jackson County jury on Thursday awarded Susann Bashir $5 million in punitive damages in her discrimination lawsuit, along with $120,000 in lost wages and other actual damages.
The Kansas City Star reported Saturday the award appears to be the largest jury verdict for a workplace discrimination case in Missouri history.
Bashir said in court documents that her work environment became hostile immediately after she converted, with her co-workers making harassing comments about her religion and referring to her hijab as that thing on her head.
I was shocked. I thought, What is going on? she told the newspaper. Nobody ever cared what I wore before. Nobody ever cared what religion I was before
Bashir worked at AT&Ts office in Kansas City for 10 years as a fiber optics network builder before being fired from her $70,000-a-year job. She claimed she endured religious discrimination nearly every day of the final three years she worked there, including being asked if she was going to blow up the building and being called a towelhead and a terrorist.

Bashir said she became so stressed out that she couldnt return to work. She asked that her boss be removed or that she be transferred, but neither happened.
She was fired after not returning to work for nine months.
Please so stressed out ? Obama has me so stressed out, maybe I should file for a $5M settlement
There’s also another factor at play. There is a certain number of folks who have converted to Islam since 9-11 simply because they have seen the sheer level of fear and respect that Islam gets from politicians and the media, and how everyone walks on eggshells around them. To lonely, disaffected people, having that kind of aura of power around you is a very tempting drug. Let’s face facts - people want to be on the winning team, and these days, Islam *IS* the winning team.
