From Annie Get Your Gun...a good song for Liz Warren to use. Written by Irving Berlin. Use link above
Like a Seminole, Navajo, Kickapoo, like those Indians I'm an Indian too, a Sioux, a Sioux...
Some Indians someone say, without a sound I may hide away with Big Chief Hole in the Ground And I'll have Totem pole, tomahawk, pipes of peace Which will go to prove, I'm an Indian too
...Looking like a flour sack with two papooses on my back and three papooses on the way
It is typical of mid 20th century views of Native Americans, and is sometimes considered racist and demeaning from a contemporary perspective, although others see it as a mildly satirical attack on racial stereoyping. Native Americans did protest outside the New York Theatre, as well as the film theaters, too, holding picket signs stating: "Don't See "Annie Get your Gun"". As a result of this reaction, many contemporary productions have omitted the song from their revivals, and the protests stopped.
In 1979, the song was remixed and released as a dance track by disco artist Don Armando.
Other singers to have recorded the song include Judy Garland.
That's the key. No sense being an Indian if you can't do the accent.
Disco version!

How about Cher’s “Half Breed”
Paul Revere and the Raiders “Indian Reservation”
That’s right, take it from Biden (the 7/11 Indian accent comment)!
Meanwhile I’d like to point out that I was born in Lynn, MA,
which is part of the United States of America. Therefore, I am a Native American.
Don't you mean "One Sixteenth Breed?"
Country tune Indian Outlaw by Tim McGraw (son of baseball’s Tug McGraw) which actually includes part of Indian Reservation at one point.

They all gather round my teepee
Late at night tryin’ to catch a peek of me in my buffalo briefs
I got em standin’ in line
Cause I’m an Indian outlaw
Half Cherokee and Chocktaw
Cherokee people, cherokee tribe
So proud to live, so proud to die
“Bill Cooksey for City Council!”
Yes...and remember when Edith Bunker used to screech it?
The greatest source of tinnitus in the late 20th century... Edith Bunker’s singing
I think of the spoof of the old song “The Streets of Laredo” done by the Kingston Trio, and further mangled herewith:
“
I see by your headdress that you are an Injun,
You see by my headdress that I am one too,
We see by our headdress that we are both Injuns,
.
.
.
Get yourself a headdress and be an Injun too!
“
Hey, maybe Liz Warren and Ward Churchill can shack up in a tipi somewhere and start their own Native American tribe.
I’m sure someone could come up with an appropriate name but it’s 0547 in the morning and my brain isn’t clever enough right now.
Edith: “(sings) Sunrise, sunset...”
Archie: “(sings) Stifle, stifle...”
