Did you loathe and detest the Bush administration? If so, you'd probably say its ideas were horrible and their execution worse. Did you not loathe and detest the Bush administration? In that case, you might say its ideas were pretty good

She was not so great an SoS, either.

If Romney is elected, he needs to do what GW Bush failed to do — clean out all the hold-overs from previous administrations.
And, he needs to bring in new blood — not old hacks from previous administrations.
That is part of the problem in Washington — too many old hacks and hold-overs who won’t leave.
It’s broken record season, so here goes. Like or dislike Condi, she brings nothing to the ticket that helps Romney. If anything, she will trigger resentment from plantation blacks. The fact that she swooned over Obama won’t mean anything to them. Even though she is the epitome of a smart, hardworking, talented, successful female, Condi won’t do much to attract the women’s vote. Last, but not least, not by a long shot, is that Condi’s politics are something of an unknown, except she is flexible enough to get a chill up her leg when Obama won, and that is way too flexible for me. Romney doesn’t care about her politics, but he knows political correctness won’t help him. Romney’s people know he has a conservative problem. In terms of ethnic demographics, his best chance to turn things is by winning the Catholic, Hispanic voters the Democrats are crapping on.
Condi Rice?
Haven’t we had enough incompetent, affirmative action people at the highest levels of the federal government, placed there solely because of their skin color and/or their personal plumbing?
People like Madeleine Albright, Condi Rice, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Janet Napolitano, Kathleen Sebelius and Eric Holder have largely been responsible for turning the USA into a laughing stock on the international stage and gradually moving us toward a national version of Detroit.
It’s time to stop the racist/sexist insanity and select people who have demonstrated the ability to perform the job.
I excerpted the WSJ image you posted. The FR software is brutal. If you have any more questions, please ask us directly.
You like her? Well she’s never married so go ask her.
She is maybe the worst running mate Romney could pick. I seriously doubt he will but she’s the worst one that I could imagine even being possibly considered.
She’s pro-choice, pro-shamnesty, AND has has strong Bush stink (you can’t think of her without thinking of W). If you have Bush stink you better damn well be a decent conservative.
With Romney’s history of flip flopping on abortion he needs a pro-life running mate and Bush stink as strong as hers is a baaaad idea. That means no Condi, no Jeb. No way.
>>...screw this author and his revisionist dreams.<<
It was a good, accurate, article. The VP choice might well be President someday, and could certainly have an advantage in 8 years. Better it not be Rice, given her history of waffling on conservative principles. What the author said, needed saying.
If, okay when, it comes down to it, I’m not sure if I am going to vote for Mitt. Adding Rice to the ticket would make that decision for me. Just like with Palin, only the other way.
Condi Rice has never run for elected office and she's not going
to start now. Makes great headline fodder though.
“Anyone But Condi”
I couldn’t agree more. Your reasoning says it all.
Anyone But Commies
We know ABC does not stand for that!
lol, yeah, but why not use it to put out the commie fire?
Ditto for me. If that's the GOP ticket, I'm voting for Virgil Goode. (not like my vote matters anyway)
It’s not going to be Condi Rice; Romney actually want to win the presidency.
80% of Republicans have a FAVORABLE view of Rice after her awful record as SOS and her subsequent support of Obama? Which "Republicans" did they poll, these guys?
She was and is objectively well qualified for the jobs held, whether you liked what the W's administration "accomplished" in foreign policy or not.
Why is there so seldom any effort to list grievances?
Curiously you left Colin Powell, unabashed endorser of Obama, and SoS longer than Condi, off of your list. You must think he was brilliant!
I'd rather have her run for California rep, governor, or senate.
Condi would be a major asset to a future GOP administration but VP is a political job; she is not a politician and has no interest in that arena. It offers her nothing but grief.
I think you grossly under estimate her contribution to the post-9/11 successes of W's administration. It's not like anyone could halt North Korea's nuclear ambitions or resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
It doesn't seem the case for you, but I see too much of that on FR now, generally rooted in misogyny or blatant racism. It's vile and despicable. It's against the rules but such posters persist.
Name one major accomplishment during her tenure as secretary of state.
Forcing a cease fire in the 2006 Israel/lebanon conflict to save Hezbollah and allow them to retrench and rearm doesn't count.
No, I just forgot to add him. Thanks for the reminder.
He stands right out there with the worst of the worse.
If it wasn't for affirmative action he would have spent his Army career running the night shift at a chow hall.
