Wave after wave of young men surged forward to take turns punching and kicking their victim.
The victim's friend, a young woman, tried to pull him back into his car. Attackers came after her, pulling her hair, punching her head and causing a bloody scratch to the surface of her eye. She called 911. A recording told her all lines were busy. She called again. Busy. On her third try, she got through and, hysterical, could scream only their location.
Church and Brambleton. Church and Brambleton. Church and Brambleton.
It happened four blocks from where they work, here at The Virginian-Pilot.
Two weeks have passed since reporters Dave Forster and Marjon Rostami - friends to me and many others at the newspaper - were attacked on a Saturday night as they drove home from a show at the Attucks Theatre. They had stopped at a red light, in a crowd of at least 100 young people walking on the sidewalk. Rostami locked her car door. Someone threw a rock at her window. Forster got out to confront the rock-thrower, and that's when the beating began...

Folks usually get dinner plate eyeballs when theyre looking at the business end of a twelve gauge. Yep, it's an effective eyelid simulant for shore.
Don't forget the sidearm and the hi-cap mags.

Ellen: This is so dangerous, we have no business being in an area like this.
Clark: Well look at it this way honey, this is a part of America we never get to see.
Ellen: That's good. Clark: No, that's bad. I mean we can't close our eyes to the plight of the cities.
Kids, you noticing all this plight? This will just make us appreciate what we have. (gun shot and scream) Roll em up.

An Indian friend of mine says "Indian people aren't afraid of anything' ~ and from what I've seen over the years that's pretty much true ~ not for all, but enough that you should believe they are not afraid.
I gather it's from part of the moral instruction they receive PLUS there's no place in India where you can really escape intense grinding poverty and the mean-ness that can come with it.
He's a lawyer and did quite a bit of criminal defense work in DC before striking out on his own. He's not afraid of anything.
Although this young lady from the same place as my friend was squealing and screeching she still wanted the cops to take names ~ bet they had to manhandle her a bit to get her in the car and out of there.
South Asian women are simply not afraid ~ but they can sure get angry.

Pat Buchanan is considered "tainted" don't you know, but the FBI -- that's original source material.
Acknowledged, thanks.

Yeap, same thing happened to them except the Buick didn't have "Honkey Lips" painted on it. B-) Sometimes real life imitates art.
