Its been nearly eight years since Dan Rathers long career at CBS came to a close after he ran a story that could have derailed President George W. Bushs 2004 reelection. Instead, the story about Bushs supposedly questionable National Guard service wound up giving the media a black eye after some of the documents used to in the report turned out to be fake.
Nonetheless, Rather is still at it, making the case that he was in the right and that the only reason he was forced out at CBS was because of pressure from his corporate superiors. Rather made that case on ABCs Good Morning America on Monday in an appearance promoting his new book, Rather Outspoken: My Life in the News.
My attitude is in recent years is that sometimes things in journalism go badly for the correspondent, Rather said. But its important not to get baffled, not to be afraid and to never quit. I have a passion covering news. I love covering news. Particularly when you do investigative stories, not everything is going to go well. Ive had my ups and downs. Ive seen rain. Ive seen fire. Ive seen starry nights. Ive seen it all. But I never lost my passion for doing what I do.
Rather also stuck with his claim that the corporate leadership at Viacom, parent company of his former employer CBS, buckled under the pressure.

hahaha..... Sounds definitely like a Ratherism.
LOLOLOL! - OMG! - LOLOLOL! That’s killing my hernia!
Here's the synopsis that he really needs to refute: Rather's Ruin and the Rise of the Pajamahadeen
A trip down memory lane!

What’s the frequency, Ken?
lulz
Here is the first post questioning the memos (just 19 minutes into the broadcast): http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1220090/posts?page=107#107
Rather = a more sophisticated, controlled Ülberman.
An 80 year old man, partly senile, hoping to recover from lying to us all. He can’t settle back and admit that he made up that report about Bush based on predjudices he already held. He can’t admit the truth to us or himself. The evidence tells all!
oh so it WASN’T the fake documents you presented as real, Dan?
even after you were warned about them?
Dan Rather's Fake But Accurate report.
Not quite.
The copies faxed to CBS were faxed from a Kinko's in Abilene.
Bill Burkett -- the supposed originator of the hoax letters -- lived in Baird, only 20 miles away.
The lunatic Burkett was a member in good standing of the fevered liberal community in Austin, though, and thus an associate of Rather's daughter.
That is Saturday, four days after the broadcast. But if you look at post 47 in the thread I linked, you’ll notice it was just before the broadcast ended.

I stand corrected.
Thanks.
“Your takedown wont staydown. LOL”
It’s like the Hiss-Chambers case. The die-hards never say die.
Hey,..don’t have a hernia!..That was my best Rodney imitation. Get well.
Dan Baby, give it a rest!
