Mitt Romney was not his first choice for president, but conservative political activist Scott Magill has come to accept that Romney is now his only choice. So Magill is looking for reasons to get jazzed about the candidate he once dismissed.
His list so far: Romney is a Republican who would sign into law legislation passed by a GOP-led House. Romney has started to hit the right talking points. If elected, Romney would have to listen to the conservative base - or risk its wrath at reelection time.
Also, and perhaps most important, Romney is not Barack Obama.
The conservative base appears to be warming to Romney, according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll conducted after Santorum's exit, which found that about 80 percent of conservative Republicans hold favorable views of Romney - a record percentage for the candidate.
Santorum's withdrawal from the field has opened the door for many groups that had been uncomfortable with his candidacy to embrace Romney, including the National Right to Life; the Susan B. Anthony List; National Organization for Marriage, which opposes same-sex marriage.

Not from me he doesn’t.
Evidently, he'd turn cartwheels.
And he’s still going to be pounded into dust by Obama because he’s only very marginally different than Obama.
“Reality...”
If “reality” is that A-political’s accept Romney as a “Conservative”, because they are ignorant of what a “Conservative” is, then I s’pose so.
I cannot support, nor vote for, a man who instituted gay marriage, signed an assault weapons ban, and inaugurated the beginnings of socialized medicine in the state he governed.
Conservatives are not warming towards Romney.
Perhaps “conservative Republicans” are....they almost no different from “conservative” or blue dog Democrats.
LOL, face the wrath of conservatives at re-election? He’s already shown the world that we’re toothless. Why on earth would he “fear” us.
If I had a dollar for every time I heard or read that...
Of ALL the Republicans contenders they had to run, he was the only one who was guaranteed to loose to Ubama.
Which is the Point! The the GOP doesn't want the Responsibility to roll back the Supreme Soviet's Agenda. Ubama wants to raid your 401k, Roth IRA, and other savings, Boehner, McConnell and Romney are like "Meh, It is 5:00 yet? I gotta go Golfing with the Russian Ambassador and Tom Dashle"
The GOP wants to throw this election, they don't care about their own damn constituents. Its clear now, the Leftists have succeeded with number 15 of the Communist plan "Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States."
Romney WILL lose, and that is the plan.
Romney vs Obama - a choice of having your crap sandwich on white or wheat!
I know how you feel, it’s really sticking in my craw as well. about the only reason I have to vote for him is that he’s not obama
Is Milt truly conservative here? imposing RomneyCARE?
Who is Scott Magill?
“Wrapping themselves up in some delusional rational that Romney is not a conservative and that he is a liberal.”
When did supporting gun control, global warming, cap&trade, a class warfare tax system, implementing socialized healthcare, and appointing liberal/Democrat judges become conservative positions?
Peddle your Romneybot garbage elsewhere.
I’ll write in Newt if he doesn’t make the ballot......... I will not pull the lever for Romney/Obamma.
Amen. Never me. I won’t vote for the slug.
I'm not convinced he'll nominate judges any less Liberal than Urkel has.
Well, maybe SLIGHTLY less Liberal, but still.
We have the antidote against this snake's bites; The Tea Party.
We have to get as many Tea Partiers as possible elected to Congress to make his life as difficult as possible.
If he wins.
At this point, I don't even care that his toadies are going to blame us if he loses. This country is toast either way.
Reality is that no Tea Partier is going to bother going down to the polls to vote FOR a liberal in order to replace another liberal. They'll vote for Virgil Goode if they have to. And dems aren't going to vote AGAINST the current liberal in order to put in a liberal with an (R) after his name.
