For the first time since President Obama issued a controversial order halting its progress, the proposed Keystone XL Pipeline is once again on track for bureaucratic review after TransCanada submitted a new route through Nebraska designed to avoid environmentally sensitive areas.
The new plan, which TransCanada submitted to the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality on Wednesday, takes the Keystone project out of the deep freeze that began in January when Obama agreed with the recommendation of the State Department to reject the initial pipeline application.
This new development, first reported by Fox News, allows Nebraska officials to review the impact of the pipeline's adjusted route. It also opens the door for the pipeline's builder, TransCanada, to submit a new complete proposal covering the entire length of the pipeline to the State Department for its review.

fRIGGIN' LIAR....FOR THE VOTES!!!
Ideally, from Osama Obamas standpoint, would be to let the project move forward slowly bfore the election, then put the kibosh on it when/if he is re-elected.
You nailed it.
If he’s re-elected he’ll simply kill it. Dead.
To submit this so soon one has to assume this was a contingency that TCPL had previously prepared.
Why do the states need the feds approval?
Good point.
I think that TransCanada knows that Obama is between the horns of a dilemma, and they are throwing it at him.
If Obama rejects it again, it will become a huge campaign issue against him when he wants to be talking about other things.
If he accepts it outright, it will be a flip-flop of the highest order because he isn't leaving time to study it like he demanded before.
I love it.

The Crude Oil Market DEMANDS a specific amount of feeder stock (=crude oil), and the owners SUPPLY the feeder stock.
The Invisible Hand of the Market thus does a near perfect job of equalizing SUPPLY and DEMAND, because the intersection of SUPPLY and DEMAND is called PRICE.
The Market PRICE is what politicians will never understand. They only understand the ANTI-Price, which is TAXES, REGULATIONS, and POLICY.
BTW, haven’t these points been proven enough? After 80 years of failure to become profitable, the Federal Government has NO business interfering with Business. (I can give you over 15 TRILLION reasons to back up my point).
They must be talking to people all along the route, not just in Nebraska, because they are talking to people on the Texas Gulf Coast.
Is this a setup to make Obama look like a great oilman?
Thanks Ron C.
Thanks Ron C.
It’s too late. Previously the US could demand a discount on the price of Canadian shale oil because the US was literally the only market for it. There were no pipelines anywhere else.
Thanks to Obama’s idiocy Canada is now running a pipeline to Vancouver for export to China. Now Canada can demand (and get) the world price for oil when selling to the USA.
Thanks, O-idiot.
Snake oil maybe. I wouldn't let the wormy dog eater on my rig between spud and final displacement.
And if they decide to build without his "permission" what could/would he do?
He's a chicken sh!t and couldn't do one thing!
There is more than one precedent of 0bama ignoring SCOTUS' rulings.
