“[Expletive] the white man! [Expletive] the white man!”
The man’s yells reverberated through the Metrorail car, breaking the quiet typical of an early-morning ride. I turned down the music on my iPhone. What was that? “[Expletive] the white man!” he screamed again. My fellow Blue Line riders and I looked around uneasily. I couldn’t see the man, but I did note that I seemed to be one of very few white men in the car. Still, I brushed it off. It’s not unusual to encounter crazy behavior while riding Metro. Rarely do things turn serious. As the train arrived at L’Enfant Plaza, I briefly considered switching cars. I didn’t.
I should have.
What happened next is a blur. I remember hearing “Look me in the eyes!” Now the voice was close — too close. I turned. The man had squared up directly in front of me, his face level with mine. I met his rage-filled eyes the moment before he head-butted me. Then his right fist came around in a hook, connecting just above my cheek.
“What are you doing?” was all I could yell, rather lamely, as I shoved him away. He turned his punches toward another victim as other passengers came to our aid. One of them pulled the man’s jacket over his head in a hockey-like maneuver. A woman was pushing the emergency call button. Feeling stunned, I remember wondering: Why isn’t the conductor responding?
So began a series of critical failures by Metro to protect its passengers.

In the first case, I just got off the train. In the second, I did nothing. Why?
Because I'm carrying a Kimber .45 for which a permit in DC is unobtainable. When I unholster that baby, it will be for very good reason. In the meantime, I avoid trouble.
Actually the critical failures occurred when you:
1. Decided at some point that your life was not worth defending.
2. Abdicated the responsibility for your defense to others
3. Made yourself an easy mark by displaying a complete lack of situational awareness and courage.
In other words, Holmes, you brought it on yourself.
I am so very tired of Metro. The ignorant “workers” who spend all their time standing around talking among themselves instead of helping their customers. The lack of even the most basic maintenance. Hell, they can’t even keep an escalator working, why should I believe that their rail car and track maintenance are any better?
Refuse to ride, shut em down. Then, when they are out of money, make them fire all their employees and rehire from scratch.
Solution for me: stay away from DC. And Chicago and Detriot and other large city dominated and run by libs. They are all turning into sewers.

More people need to be like this. These ferals prefer ambush attack and sucker punching the unwary, especially old white people.

Culture is also entrenched bureaucracy, so any improvements, let alone any real work, are discouraged and frowned upon.
I do not miss them either. I have been to DC. I was embarressed that people from all over the world see the slums about 2 blocks from the “Nice Places”. Been to NY also same thing. NJ is a police state been there. I do not even want to try Chicago and CA. Dead man lying in parking lot in NJ was enough for me.
