Is it the media’s job to bury newsworthy stories? This is a strange world.......

Will this be a surprise to anyone at FR? Just nice from time to time to see confirmation, much less from the WaPo itself.

The story in question was titled Health care law will add $340 billion to deficit, new study finds. It pointed out that the administration had double-counted Medicare savings in the law and once you adjusted for that it added to the deficit rather than reducing it, as the White House has claimed. This is pretty significant news and was soon repeated and reposted throughout the web. Haven't people in the private sector gone to jail for such accounting tricks?

I believe this fact was widely reported in the Non-Lame-Stream-Media before 0bummerRomneyCare became law.
It’s just that The Washington ComPost finally was admitting the fact of double counting savings some years later.
Q: Has the ComPost ever reported that there were 10 years of taxes and 6 or 7 years of costs in 0bamaRomneyCare? I doubt they’ve ever gotten around to reporting that....

Washington Post: We Tried To Bury That Story About ObamaCare Blowing Up The DeficitThe title might be misleading. I am still searching for any admission whatsoever of wrongdoing in the article in question.

What is that thing called Freedom of the press? Isn’t it my right to have a free press, uncontrolled by the government? Can the alphabet networks and newspapers be sued for denying us a free press?
