Up into Zimmerman phoned the prosecutor, it looked like that it was heading to a manslaughter charge and Zimmerman's lawyers dropped him just after the phone call.
I'm thinking he told the prosecutor something that allowed her to bump up the charge. Like not heading back to his vehicle or something.
That may be why the lawyers dropped him, because Zimmerman made the case for the prosecutor.
“It’s a fair cop, You got me bang to rights”
More likely he asked for a trial so he can get a public hearing instead of a media assassination. Its the only recourse he has to change the public perception due to all the media lies.
I don’t think he’s that smart.
I think he tried to explain his side of it, in hopes of the prosecutor would understand and work with him, but he told her something she could use against him instead.
When in doubt, shut your pie hole.
The media wasnt his friend, and he doomed himself.
The old police saying: “When talking to the press, lawyers or superiors,if it felt good when you said it, it was the wrong thing to say” Applies here.
Lesson learned by all CCW holders is: Let the lawyer do the talking and dummy up until you have to.
Or he invoked his right to a speedy trial by a jury of his peers.
The world has been on George Zimmermans head. The GD POTUS has convicted him, and his whole family and people not even associated with him have been living in fear. Speculation it may be, but he might have just come forward and said, “charge me and try me, but let’s have pressure relief here or there will be a race war.”
Going to be one of those anyway for this bodes not well for anyone white who defends themselves against a black assailant. The racial hucksters are now emboldened to travel the nation and attack any incident with impunity and the tacit blessing of the current DOJ and administration.
I, for one, will not be cowed. I will not hesistate to save my own life, the life of my family, or a stranger in need.
“I’m Stoopit. So, let me tell you what happened...”
With the New Black Panthers putting a bounty on his head, he is much safer in jail than out in the public somewhere. The govt. can give him protection if he is in their custody.
They can charge him with murder 2, but it doesn’t mean he will convicted with it.....
I just want the truth to come out, either way.
Your only friend within the world of prosecution is your defense attorney. If the police want you to stop by for a “friendly” chat, it’s lawyering up time.
Not even your wife and kids can be considered friendlies in this situation. Your wife cannot be compelled to testify, but she might say something problematic anyway. Or your husband, if the wife is being charged, just so everybody understands I’m not picking on women. :)
I agree he’s safer in solitary custody.
This again? She refused to talk with him and immediately contacted his two former lawyers to tell them he called.
He called because he knew the charge was coming already, probably thought he could at least explain his side.
I agree, but the odd thing is that is all the prosecution charged him with.
I was told that, in Florida, the prosecution can hit you with the whole gamut: murder 1&2, manslaughter, negligent homicide, and others, to ensure you get something.
But the odd thing is, it’s either murder 2 or George might walk.
When did she tell him this, immediately or two minutes into the conversation?
I've yet to see any reliable reports that this actually happened.
The article I read (don’t have a link, sorry) said that he wanted to talk, but she refused to talk to him as soon as she learned that his lawyers weren’t there.
It didn’t happen. He called but was rebuffed because the prosecutor had her charge ready and wasn’t about to risk anything by speaking to Zimmerman over the phone with no attorney present. She called his attorneys and the in turn quit after not being able to reach him.
I think he was ready for a series defense attorney anyway. Those other two seemed, well, not very competent.
OMG I did series thing. I meant SERIOUS.
lol
It’s like they want to charge him to calm the situation, but also give him an easy path to acquittal.
I guess GZ thought justice was blind....
That’s naïve at best
I had heard that too, but what was unclear was whether the prosecutor rebuffed him before opening his mouth or whether he had a chance to say anything stupid.
