Notice: Free Republic has been in full rebellion mode since 2008 and will remain in full rebellion mode for the duration!

No more Doles!! No more McCains!! No more RINOS!!

NO ROMNEY!!

Those who cannot stomach rebellion might as well start looking for a new home on the net!!

Those who have ignored my hundreds of posts on this crucial issue or who have doubted me these last three or four years might as well get used to it. FR will never support the abortionist, homosexualist, socialist, mandate loving, constitution trampling liar Mitt Romney.

In case you haven't noticed, a TEA Party rebellion is on and Free Republic signed on years ago. There is no turning back. No more crap from the GOP-e!! They've screwed us for the last time!! Karl Rove and Mitt Romney, et al, loathe conservatism and loathe the tea party and took it upon themselves to use their money and connections to destroy nearly every one of our conservative tea party candidates while pushing their big government RINOS. That makes them the enemy. I will not reward that betrayal by giving them my support or my vote.

FR is and will remain a pro-life, pro-limited government conservative site!!

We are beholden to NO ONE!! We bow to no kings!! We bow to NO RINOS!!

I'd rather fight and die like a man than bend over and be screwed by a RINO!! I refuse to kiss Karl Rove or Mitt Romney's rings!! They can kiss my rosy red ass instead!!

FUMR!! FUGOP!!

Long live the rebellion!!

Hope my message is clear.

No one can realistically believe that McCain wouldn’t be better. No one can seriously claim that Romney wouldn’t be better.

Maybe, but I'll take a stab at explaining the differences, as I see them. It's a matter of degrees. Examining some key issues here is what I see in terms of Obama, McCain, and Romney.
Health care deform: Both McCain and Obama supported socalized medicine and McCain was notorious for reaching across the aisle. We would probably have McCain rammed down our throats instead of Obamacare. Romney came up with Romneycare and as has been shown suggested at the time his plan was something the federal government could use as an example. So will he stand for repealing it? Maybe, but probably not.

Budget: Our massive spending and debt under both Bush and Obama should prove the republicans can spend like drunken sailors too. The only way the budget is going to get fixed is if we have someone with the gumption to stand strong against the democrats and their pet programs. Considering the revised number on Obamacare a repeal is needed to even get close to a reasonable budget. This is Romney's strongest (least weak) category, but surely not an encouraging one. He'd be better than Obama, but maybe not different enough to matter in the long run.

Judiciary: This was the reason I supported McCain against Obama in 2008, I figured it was important that we have decent justices on the Supreme Court. Romney's record speaks for itself he has appointed Liberal judges including ones with strong pro ‘gay rights’ stances. Let's not let Romney off the hook because he was governor of a Liberal state, think what that implies about his choices if the Democrats get the house or senate. Again pretty hard to tell if he'd be better than Obama.

Abortion: We know where Obama is. We aren't sure where Romney is, but it doesn't look good.

Gun Control: Obama: typical liberal; McCain: probably would have been okay. Romney: record not the greatest, again no passes for being in a Democrat state.

Electability: As this discussion proves many in the tea-party crowd and republican base are less than thrilled with Romney as they were with McCain. That can't bode well in November. Also, I know it hasn't become an issue yet (libs are still gathering ammunition); but Romney's religion stands a pretty good chance of making this election all about race after all it will be hard to differentiate in some other key areas which makes it hard to campaign. Romney has done a good job beating up Republicans, how well will he do against Obama? Better to take a stand now than rerun 2008 all over again. Yes, I'm seriously claiming Romney wouldn't be that much better. I'm certainly not giving up while there so much as a snowball chance in Hades of another option to Romney and Obama.

These 2008 signups are surely conservative.

Or not.

Especially if they are a White Rhino.

Who puts “white” in their nic?

It's just another symptom of this fantasy you guys have jumped headlong into. Any political ideology, and that includes conservatism, that attempts to place itself between me and the Bill of Rights to act as sole arbiter and interpreter, is the definition of tyranny.

Projection on your part. How typical.

I guess the true colors come out for those pretenders on a Conservative forum who are pushing the same crap forcefed to us by the Ruling Class who demonstrate they have no clue what Conservatism actually is. Obviously, neither do you.

You suggest Conservatism a threat to the BOR in the same way the Marxist Left does; as a fantasy and a tyranny - while you ridicule those who have decided to rebel against the Ruling Class stooges.

You make my case, and Conservatives need to see domestic enemies of the Constitution for what they are; whether they be Marxists, Socialists or Liberals in any party that works against the principles this nation was founded on. If that makes you uncomfortable, too damn bad. This is war for what's left of our liberty and we're done with supporting it in any way - an adulterous and treasonous party.

We have the right and duty to throw off those who would be our masters and set new guards for our liberty. And we're going to do it our way from now on. We are no longer beholden to support those forcefed to us for the sake of party and our own dissolution by their adulterous compromising.

Depressingly, you’re right. Conservatives in America (and indeed the whole world) have been losing the culture wars for decades, and it will take decades to recover - if we even can. Its hardly surprising - we are the ones who are saying “no”, which is always less sexy than saying “yes”. Unfortunately, sometimes you do have to say “no”.

we conservatives cannot win because the GOP has foisted a liberal progressive upon us

I don't think this is true. The GOP didn't stop anyone from entering the field and didn't keep all the notMitts in the race and didn't split the vote between them.

We couldn't agree on here who to back; we still can't agree on Newt and he's the only one left.

We didn't have a good field of candidates and we didn't unite behind one of the ones we had. If we magically created a FR Conservative Party tomorrow, I doubt we wouldn't split and fight and destroy each nominee again.

The party ain't the problem.

I agree (for the most part). Much as I love Newt, I will vote ABO in November. I owe it to my daughter, whom I raised by myself after divorcing her tyrannical dad, because I know she has ZERO future with Obama. I’ll take my chances with ABO over the MARXIST that currently resides in the WH. How can you not see he is a Marxist? I mean, seriously, his words spell it out clear as day.

The party ain't the problem.

This is true.

We've become a II Timothy 3 Generation as a culture. God has given us over to strong delusion and confusion. The patriarchs of our country believed they were suffering the tyranny of the Crown because they had sinned as a people. In the decades leading up to Independence, Repentance was preached from the pulpits and the people sought God in their daily living beyond just words once a week.

We're in this mess for many reasons, but primarily for those on this forum, it's because we're putting politics first as a solution to the problems this people chose for themselves and not doing 2 Chronicles 7:14.

Of course the circular firing squad we saw this year was beyond the pale, and that was stoked by operatives in Obama; Romney and Ron Paul's camps. That looks to continue so the Marxists and RINO's will continue to trod over what is left of us.

It wasn’t mine, but I think you make an excellent point.

I could try to add or elaborate on it, but not improve it.

Just speculatin', mind you, but if everyone who SAYS or SAID they would write in Palin if romney won stole the nomination, she would actually win.

FWIW, THE UNDEFEATED is now free-streaming for Netflix members, if anyone needs reminding of why Palin Power works.

PS: note the closing credits where our own Josh Painter is listed!

We didn't have a good field of candidates and we didn't unite behind one of the ones we had. If we magically created a FR Conservative Party tomorrow, I doubt we wouldn't split and fight and destroy each nominee again.

From the get-go I was willing to support Bachmann, Cain, Santorum, and Gingrich (though I strongly felt Gingrich needed a brilliant VP pick to appeal to the masses). I welcomed Perry on board and heard him out too. I can't be any more accommodating than that. I drew a line with Huntsman and Romney because they are progressives in our ranks, wolves in sheeps clothing. I refuse to unite behind any candidate that is better suited to representing the democrat party than the republican. And I think most of our frustrated FRiends here were on the same ride as I was ... watching the more conservative candidates get picked off one by one. Romney doesn't even belong on our team and he's still in the game. It's not his own money he's using to outspend the conservative opponents 10 to 1. Find the ones bankrolling him and you'll find the ones I blame for merging the republican and democrat parties into one big progressive tent. If that isn't the GOP-e, I'll be shocked. And for that reason, I do feel the party is the problem. Romney should have been one of the first to go, not the last, if the GOP still held conservative values.

"It's just time! We have to fight this incessant GOP/RNC rino infested party. If we keep voting for rinos because they are the lessor of two evils we will always be doing it encouraging more rinos!"

You cannot cure the disease by killing the patient, my friend. You, like many here on the FR site have taken a position far beyond common sense.

I asked you the following question 2 days ago. I have yet to receive an answer. Did I miss it or did you simply choose to ignore me. I ask because you seem to clearly be saying you will not vote for Romney. Your choice of course but (from my last post to you)

"What then do you advocate we do if Romney is the nominee?"

I have a strong feeling Obama and his circus of flying monkeys will find a chink in Mitts wall, they will start chipping away and Romney will take the same road as other candidates, in effect he will be blasted enough to pull voters away and myself I have a feeling he may even withdraw from the running before June.
