No doubt that Team Romney is looking at Christie very closely. I do wonder about Christie’s health. I also hope that Eric Cantor is being considered.

I admire his passionate speeches and positive attitude.
However, he is a complete RINO.

I wish republicans would quit letting the media drive their emotions.
Chris Christie is not conservative. He would be a loser, too.

If Romney puts Christie or another RINO in the VP slot that’s it for me. I will stop even considering a vote for Romney.

If Romney want to ensure that the Conservative don't show up at the polls in Nov, all he need to do is pick another northeastern RINO, like Christie Creme, to "balance out" the ticket. Why in the world would this dud pick a morbidly obese Gov from a state the GOP doesn't have a prayer of flipping in the General? It is the height of stupidity unless the GOPe is intentionally throwing this election to the Rats.
Let's not forget that Christie Creme is one of only two Republicans to attend the State dinner for the Commie Chinese President Hu Jintao. Disgraceful.

I am often amazed that some FReepers can’t see the forest from the trees.
Chris Christie has record popularity in NEW JERSEY of all places, and he has achieved it with mostly pro-liberty and small government rhetoric. We should celebrate this. The message is resonating in unlikely places. This is good news.
Of course Christie is a big RINO (literally). Let’s keep our expectations reasonable. I certainly wouldn’t want him on the ticket, but I am content with him as governor of New Jersey. His is the best we can hope for from a state like that.

For once we need a real conservative on the ticket. Someone that can make a difference. The POTUS is not the only one up there.

Romney needs an actual Conservative on the ticket, not a conservative-by-New-Jersey-standards.

Everything in this article seems to be reported accurately. Having said that, I can't imagine what any GOP presidential candidate would hope to gain by bringing Christie on board as a running mate. New Jersey will not support a Republican presidential candidate unless it's an election year of Reagan-Mondale landslide proportions anyway. Having a fat slob like Christie (and I like the guy a lot, as governor of New Jersey) on the ticket doesn't do anything for the GOP.
Better to get someone from a key state that's in play but has good Republicans in office (Virginia, Ohio or North Carolina), or a key region that offsets Romney's weaknesses (or someone from the South) .. and give Christie a position that he's ideally suited for, like Attorney General.

Chris Christie goes berserk when questioned about appointment of Muslim judge:
Ignorance is behind the criticism of Sohail Mohammed, he told a reporter asking about the complaints that he may be inadequate to be a judge because he defended Muslim Americans who were wrongly arrested post-9/11. He is an extraordinary American who is an outstanding lawyer and played an integral role in the post-September 11th period in building bridges between the Muslim American community in this state and law enforcement, Gov. Christie argued, adding that he was disgusted, candidly, by some of the questions he was asked
at the Senate judiciary committee.
But it was a follow-up question on the fear of Sharia Law that set the governor off. Sharia Law has nothing to do with this at all, its crazy! he cried. The guy is an American citizen! He concluded that the Sharia Law business is just crap
and Im tried of dealing with the crazies, adding with disgust and frustration that its just unnecessary to be accusing this guy of things just because of his religious background.

The new numbers suggest Christie remains a powerful political brand at least in his home state That's a good thing. New Jersey is right where Christie belongs, and I hope he wins reelection.
