To hell with the GOP-e. Barring a miracle, they got their big government, unconstitutional mandate loving, socialist abortionist Obama-lite RINO on the ballot, they can now get him elected.
We are the resistance!!
Shove him down our throats today, we shove him up your donkeys in November!!
I can see November from my house!!
They are fast-tracked for their 2nd McCain. Many won't vote for a RINO, many won't vote for a Mormon. Many won't vote for a global-warming believer, many won't vote for a pro-homosexual marriage or pro-choice candidate. In an era of anti-wealth propaganda/hatred, Romney represents wealth - and many won't vote for him because of that wealth.
The Tea Party helped greatly to win elections and gave many republicans an opportunity across America. The GOP has kicked the Tea Party to the curb in repayment. Nothing more to be said. The GOP is rolling gutterballs instead of making strikes. The loss of America as we know it will be their doing.
"I have gathered a posie of other mens flowers, and nothing but the thread that binds them is mine own."-- John Bartlett (of Bartlett's Familar Quotations)
Maybe. Or, equally possible:
But if [marxist Obama] instead finds victory over a Mormon "etch-a-sketch" RINO who reverts to more liberal positions, the GOP is forced to accept that what they needed to do was move even farther left.
It's not clear that 100% of the conservatives out here would vote for a reincarnated Ronald Reagan ("Tip Oneil appeaser" and RINO Bush nominator, and look at his SCOTUS appointees....). Plus there's 40% out there who love what Obama is doing and more who are pissed at him because he's not destroying America enough.
Have you considered that again holding your nose will have the same end result as all the other times?
If Obama wins, he will continue the steep decline, but it will be under Democrat leadership. They will no longer be able to hide that fact from the short-memoried masses. And if enough of us draw the line now, maybe the Republican leadership will get it and make changes or a third party will cease the opportunity and give Conservatives a home. That is, after all, how the Republican party got started in the first place.
If Romney wins, the decline will only be slightly less steep, but the Liberal PR machine will plant the blame squarely on Republicans, and the Democrats will cease control for a generation. We have seen that before as well.
Your hope is that Romney, if elected, will govern in a way that we have never seen him govern before. You are hoping for change it seems.
In fact I think they all voted for the last two. Don't remember the actual numbers but maybe a couple abstained.
Apparently there is no shortage of RomneyBotts here either.
bump
I find it amazing and scary how many FReepers will swallow any, ANY, justification for supporting Romney. It is as if they have to convince themselves because it’s Anyone but Obama, even if it IS Obama with an R by their name.
I do not get the mindset at all. How do you simply ignore parts of his record that way? Then the stretch that we can depend on the GOP Senators to sway him on judicial appointments, again totally without support based on history.
How many GOP Senators voted against Kagan and the wise Latina??
Few and far between! but somehow they will stand up to a Republican President??
Already have, just waiting to die, if I am lucky that will happen before the FEMA camps are up and running.
tooth and nail??
did any GOP Senator vote against Kagan and Sotomayor??
and yes, a leftist GOP nominee will get a free pass.
From the history books:
During a discussion in committee on a Southern election case, where fraud was charged on either side, the members expressed themselves very frankly about the qualifications of the contestants."Well, the sitting member is a damned rascal," said one."
So is the contestant," joined in another.
"True," said Stevens; "but which is our damned rascal?"
:-)
They are not saying they will only vote for someone who can, as President, change abortion. They are saying that they cannot support a person for President who personally is pro-abortion.
It is about the person's moral character, not the powers of the office. They choose to support only pro-life candidates, regardless of the powers of the office they are running for.
Romney is NOT a conservative nor a Republican. He IS a liberal.
Exactly. A divorcee with enstranged children who authorized the sale of weapons to terrorists like Ronald Reagan would be morally unacceptable to such people.
Thank you very much, Sola Veritas!! Banned one of them last night for calling us “traitors.” Those who believe conservatives are traitors can post elsewhere. TrueBlue wankers gains another a RINO.
If you’re going to try to bring down Reagan to support your favorite pro-abort/socialist RINO, perhaps you should post elsewhere. TrueBlueWankersRUS.com is looking for new posters. Suggest you move along.
I said to hell with the GOP years ago!!!
They ALL suck!!!
C'mon. Of course Romney is a lame choice. People are setting up hurdles for candidates that Ronald Reagan himself could not clear. That's a problem don't you think?
As far as "bringing down Reagan," LOL. I worked for Reagan before you had your first keyboard, Jim. If we hold our breath and let Obama win then Obama will eliminate all "dissenting" sites like FR in the next term anyhow.
If I have violated any of your rules for your site, of course you are entitled to purge me (sorry, "Zot" sounds much less totalitarian, right?) at any time.

Romney's record.
1. Implemented/created Gay Marriage in MA
2. Supported and forced Gay Adoption in MA
3. Supported Abortion wholeheartedly
4. Raised taxes/fees over 300% while being Governor of MA
5. Implemented a state-level Cap and Trade system.
6. Supported Man-Made Global Warming
7. Supported the Brady Bill
8. Implemented a state level Assault Weapons Bill after the Federal AWB was allowed to expire
9. Supported TARP
10. Supported Amnesty for Illegal Aliens (Citizenship for those already here)
11. Supported McCain-Kennedy(Amenesty)
12. Implemented a socialized medicine in MA called RomneyCare complete with an Individual Mandate and $50 abortions
13. Nominated 27 Democrats (out of 36 nominations) for judgeships in MA, many of them extreme left-wingers
Of course it's all speculation, it's all a gamble, but it seems clear to me at this point that the much better bet would be to gamble on conservatism by rejecting Romney.
