White House press secretary Jay Carney tells the press corps that President Obama's attack on the Supreme Court was misunderstood because he was speaking in "shorthand" since he is a former professor of law.

I have a brother-in-law who graduated from Harvard, cum laude. He laughs whenever he hears people say Obama was a Magna cum laude. He told me 90% of Harvard graduates graduate with some kind of academic degree honors on their diploma’s.
Obama is a slacker, but someone bought a legacy for him...so he skated through.

Carney just made one of the worst excuses possible. I have been an Ivy League professor for 35 years and learned early-on that clarity of speech is just a tad important in this business.
Obama better thank his lucky stars that Professor Rating sites were not around when he honing his “shorthand”.
Obama’s shorthand is called “Doublespeak” in George Orwell’s “1984”. We, the average people, call it “ignorance, threats, and lying” by the Comrade-in-Chief.

Whether this explanation is true or not Obama would still be wrong either way.
