Nope, sorry, won’t comply. If she wants to live “sharia compliant,” she can return to her desert home.

I’ll boycott any store that tries this in my area.

“Theyve put up a sign asking customers buying pork or alcohol not to use a particular checkout line when a Muslim teenager is on duty as the cashier. “
Oh! That’s the only line I’d use!

How long until Wegman’s stops selling all fresh and frozen pork and any product that contains port? Will the next stop be protests by muslims demanding that and wegman’s giving in?

I’d go through the line with a bottle of whiskey and a side of bacon, again, and again, and again.

They’re asking? If I was in the area, I would specifically use that muzzie cashier’s lane and buy bacon strips.

That is absolute and utter bullsheet. The proper response when a cashier says, “I will not ring up pork or alcohol”, is, “There’s the door. You can come back and pick up your check on Friday.
The proper response for a Wegman’s customer on reading this is, “Top’s is not so bad”.
I like Wegman’s stores but even if I still lived in NY I wouldn’t shop there.

Here in Texas, H.E.B. has started selling chicken that is ‘HALAL’.
When they start selling halal fish on Fridays is when I stop doing business with them altogether.

We have Wegman's near me and if I'm in the right mood I'll go in the store and pick up several packages of pork chops and bacon and look for a Muslim running one of their cash registers and deliberately get in that line then when he or she made an issue out of it I'd walk out of the store and leave the pork right in front of them on the conveyor belt.
And on my way out, I'd stop at the customer service desk and I'd make it clear to Wegman's management that that was my last visit to their store.

Absolutely ridiculous. Wegman’s is a great family developed store in NYS like HEB in Texas. It is a shame to see this happen. If other faiths don’t personally eat beef do we need checkout lines that exclude that as well? I am sure Wegman’s chicken was not slaughtered as per Sharia law. So why is that permissable to be checked out?
So basically, if you buy beef, pork, and chicken you might as well put it back on the shelf because you are not checking out.
What about vegan checkers?

Well, isn't that nice?
If someone wants to shop in an halal compliant store, they can begin by opening one of their own, not by changing an existing store and generating inconvenience for existing clientele. There are, after all, kosher grocery stores.
If any store tries this locally, I'm going to make a point of buying something "unclean" and taking it to that checkout in hopes of raising hell. When the store asks me to leave, permanently, I will gladly agree to never bring my money there again.
