In 1973 the Supreme Court said it was OK to kill unborn babies. Since then, we have killed more than the entire population of Canada. And it continues. A woman's choice? Half of those who have died in their mothers' wombs have been women. They didn't have a choice. It is called abortion.
Me? I go to church, the minister preaches, I go home. That's what Christians do now.
First it was in dingy, dirty theaters. Then, convenience stores. Then, grocery stores. Then on television. Now it is in the homes of millions via the Internet. It is called pornography.

They called it no-fault. Why should we blame anyone when something so tragic happens. Haven't they already suffered enough? Half of the marriages in America end this way. The children suffered. The family broke down. It is called divorce.

At one time it was a perversion. We kept it secret. We secured help and hope for those who practiced it. Now it is praised. We have parades celebrating it, and elected officials give it their blessing. Now it is endowed with special privileges and protected by special laws. Even some Christian leaders and denominations praise it. It is called homosexuality.

It used to be an embarrassment. A shame. Now a third of all births are to mothers who aren't married. Two-thirds of all African-American children are born into a home without a father. The state usually pays the tab. That is why we pay our taxes, so that government can take the place of parents. After all, government bureaucrats know much better how to raise children than parents do. It is called illegitimacy.

At one time it was wrong. But then the state decided to legalize it, promote it and tax it. It has ripped apart families and destroyed lives. But just look at all the money the state has raised. No longer do we have to teach our children to study and work hard. Now we teach them they can get something for nothing. We spend millions encouraging people to join the fun and excitement. Just look at the big sums that people are winning. They will never have to work again! It is called gambling.

Not long ago, Christians were the good guys. But now any positive image of Christians in movies or on TV is gone. We are now depicted as the bad guys greedy, narrow-minded hypocrites. The teacher can't have a Bible on her desk, but can have Playboy. We don't have Christmas and Easter holidays just winter and spring break. We can't pray in school, but can use foul language. It's called being tolerant.

Yes, all these things came to pass within 30 years. Where were the Christians? Why, they were in church. All these things are for someone else to deal with. Times have changed. Involvement has been replaced with apathy.
But don't blame me. I didn't do anything. I go to church, the minister preaches, I go home. That's what Christians do now.
Most sermons I hear are like James 2:16 to me.
Wouldn’t want to offend anyone ya’know.
Jesus knitted a whip together of cords and...
I think the annual March for Life does a lot of good. Draws hunderdsof thousands, biggest msm secret of the year... Keybbbbbardd failing -— out.
Perhaps it's moved to it's very weakened state because the work is almost done?
America has to be held back or the events lining up overseas would not be moving forward. Under any other President the leaders moving rapidly on the World Stage would not be doing so....Mambo has given them the green light....and God may just allow him to take us all the way down.....unfortunately the American people are all too ready to allow it as we see the lack of discernment prevalent today....there is no right or wrong.
I do not believe we can expect this nation will return to what we have known it to be.....this election is truly that last opportunity..and even if the Republicans win the corruption and it's tentacles are so deep in every area of governance and business it would take years to unravel and clear out....and there will be much resistance to that. Strongholds are called that for a reason.
As for the people...we knew this would come...it's just immensely difficult to watch for those of us who have know this nation as strong and secure. The generation now does not want us to be a sovereign nation, they are all about diversity and all the other canned liberal taking points fed to them from preschool on.
I recall my daughter-in-law stunned, when cutting trees on their property, and she found her 12 yr/ old sobbing over these trees being cut. Completely convinced this was "hurting" the earth.
Pray for believers now and those who will come as Jesus did the Father....note he did not pray for those "of" the world.
I doubt God would agree with either part of that. While the church appears to be in trouble in North America, His church is growing, world-wide. I am a member of a congregation that is smaller than when I became a member 40 years ago. We can't do all we once did, but, we can do what we can do. We are called to be faithful and to be prepared ... for whatever He has in mind for us.
I believe America's best days are still ahead of her, and God isn't finished with her yet.
Pray for the church. And remember that the USA isn’t all there is.
Thank you, sir, for your long service and your post.
My son was Navy and my grandson is a Marine serving in Afghanistan. They are not OK with it, and I don’t believe the majority of Americans are. It’s just that the tiny minority of perverts are much louder and more “protected” than the rest of us are. If I’d seen this 50 years ago, I would not have believed it.
2 Chron 7:14 - “If MY PEOPLE, who are called by MY NAME, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
That’s the only way to pray for America that I know.
I agree, but the so called "conversions" in mass I hear of in other nations isn't what it's cracked up to be, rather a vast counterfeit which gets people all caught up emotionally and therefore have little understanding of Christ...rather the focus is on the 'Experiences" of a spiritual nature...and for that those who genuinely Pastor in those countries are very concerned of this "movement"....and for that we need to pray.. for it's a counterfeit.
How so? Want to enlarge on what you see coming?
>> No offense intended to our Catholic brethren ;o)
>> Um, Im confused. What is the point of your comment??
So you’ve never played bingo at a Catholic church bazaar?
I dont know how to pray for America any more.
Pray hard, brother. Very hard.
And get active again. Doesn’t matter what denomination you are, this “slouch towards hell” can be slowed. Not stopped, I don’t think, but, as has recently been shown, a big enough backlash by those of faith can give the secularists pause.
Thank you for your service, and for your father’s before you.
Neither do I, nor Jensen I’m sure. But we are all responsible for accepting various sins in others — take the case of living before marriage or sleeping together outside marriage —> it’s difficult to tell your friends that it is wrong, but we must do that.
I refuse to give in now and call our age a ‘postChristian’ society, no matter how much the media tells us. There are still many strong believers —> even in places like Scandanavia, France, England, Germany. Yes, they are under pressure, but they still exist. And we should tell everyone that there is no such thing as a post-Christian society, just people in denial of the christian nature of their society.
This is not the darkest hour, but a call to arms, Christian soldiers!
That’s what our sermon was on today. And also on the next chapter where he kills the fig tree for not bearing any fruit.
It must be stopped, you are correct. No one said living your belief was easy, and I got temporarily discouraged. Bad mind set to fix things with.
I must stop posting immediately after reading the news - it weakens my will with the stupidity, violence and outright sin on display.
It seems hell is a hell of long way away, this was written in 1999 and Bork’s book, which I have by t he way, was written in 1996. Interesting that one can recycle these articles and still be relevant today. There is no sprint and no slouching, rather, a stasis of mind and ideology.
ake the case of living before marriage or sleeping together outside marriage > its difficult to tell your friends that it is wrong, but we must do that.

I do that. Most of my friends are shocked to find out that MrR and I didn’t live together (he didn’t even move his stuff) until after we got back from our honeymoon.
There are many things, the Bible is clear on as sin and yes it is our responsibility to warn others, in very clear language. Sadly, there are many who take the ‘live and let live’ approach. I’m not one of them. LOL.
good for you. I have found it difficult to rebuke friends (we’re all too afraid of coming off as ‘holier than thou’), but we must...
LOL. After the names I’ve been called on the Mormon threads on here, ‘holier than thou’ is timid.
I will say that I rebuke my Christian friends much harsher than my non-Christian friends. For my non-Christian friends, I certainly do not condone their sins, and will inform them that it is considered a sin, but they must be led to Christ first which is often my primary focus, then HE will convict them of their sins.
For my already Christian friends, I reprove them as commanded by Scripture and remind them that they know better.
