At least one comes to mind, Dan. Guess who?
Turns out that oft-flogged figure from liberals of 98 percent of American women using contraception is too low, at least according to former CBS News anchor Dan Rather, who's now working at something or someplace called HDNet. (video clip after page break)
Appearing on last night's Rachel Maddow show, Rather claimed that use of birth control is virtually universal. Whether this conclusion is based on Rather's reporting, first-hand knowledge or some combination thereof was left unstated. Fans of unintentional humor who were watching weren't disappointed --
RATHER: I still can't believe that here, in the second decade of the 21st century, in a presidential campaign, that we're talking about contraception. Do you know any woman, of any race, creed, color or religion, who doesn't use some form of birth control?

You just can’t make this $#*+ up!!
..and madcow answered “NO but I know a lot who can iron flannel shirts faster then snapping bras”
Yes, Dan Blather. I do. Not surprised you don’t because you don’t live in the real world...
Yes, One. Maddow. Even Laz wouldn’t hit her, nor would Rosie O’Donnell. On second thought, cancel Rosie.
My curiosity piqued by Rather's remarks, I asked myself -- how many women do I know who don't use birth control, or do for that matter? The answer -- one -- my wife of nearly 20 years, the mother of our two children. And in the interests of protecting her privacy and not being consigned to sleepless nights on the couch, that is the extent of my disclosure about this.
While I get his overall point, let the speculation begin.
What do you call 100 heavily armed lesbians?
Militia Etheridge!
How many lesbians does it take to change a lightbulb?
19! One to change the lightbulb and 18 to make a documentary about it!
Hilarious!! No lesbian uses birth control!! Nompenis to worry about! Ah ha ha ha ha ha!!
Oh, and by the way, fake progesterone and oral estrogen DO contribute to cancer. So oral birth control is definitely NOT ideal. A few years won’t kill ya but there are safer ways, including abstinence or for the married, charting. taking Care of Your Own Fertility is the bible of natural birth control.
never used it, had two children as we wanted, AFTER we were married, what a concept!!
Why is Rather asking another dude for birth control advice?
Why would lesbians need birth control?
apparently Rather hasn’t visited a California maternity ward in the last decade or so
Dan Rather (now in total well-deserved oblivion) is of course ignorant that birth control medications can have very serious side effects.
I know of a young woman who had a stroke from her birth control pills.
None that you’d know, Dan.
I know a crapload of them down around Lebanon, PA. and Intercourse, PA, too.
I had to sign in to tell you that your jokes were legitimately freaking hilarious...
It would seem Dan needs to expand his horizons and get to know some conservative women and not just lesbians. I changed my tag line, but my old one was “geek chick over 50.” Anytime you want to get to know me, Dan....
That is what I thought when I read this.
