For many months, Republicans have fought the Obama-directed attempt by the FCC to expand it's control over the internet. Many pundits argue that the FCC has no compelling interest in the internet, and that the FCC has a long history of chilling debate in the various media venues it has asserted control over.
In November of 2010, the FCC and their accomplices in Congress again tried to let 'the camel's nose in the tent', by allowing the FCC to regulate the internet in the guise of 'Net Neutrality'. This effort was defeated.
Obviously, the Democrats will not be allowed to squelch the alternative media, and to quash dissent, by letting the FCC decide what speech is allowable and what is not. So, on March 28, in a time-honored tradition, legislation was offered that seemingly had a benevolent intent -- to prevent employers from demanding Facebook passwords -- but inside the legislation was a poison. The enforcing agency would be the FCC.
This legislation would then be a win-win for the Democrats. If the legislation was adopted, the control over the internet by the FCC would be further advanced. If the legislation was killed, the Democrats and their complicit counterparts in the media, could cry out that 'Republicans hate privacy' and that they opposed keeping Facebook passwords out of employers hands.
And since the legislation did fail, the second option is the one that has materialized. The left and their accomplices in the leftist press, is in fact obscuring the true objection (the FCC) and claiming Republicans hate privacy.
It is nonsensical, and a bright Republican leadership will propose the exact same legislation, with a much more neutral enforcing agency.
Add me bro!
Tweeted an ‘at...
Every bill has pork, small print, and extra little perk$ for someone. Yet, nobody ever reads so much as the title.
I hereby give you my personal permission to abuse your ping list anytime you feel it justified.
Kind of like Obama’s Human Services Secretary, Kathleen Sebelius.
You have all the power....:>)
Thanks!!!

A graphic must come next.
Thanks, OV!
Laz, GREAT editorial!!
As hard as you worked on it, you'll need to keep up your strength, so we made you some "Laz Cookies"
They obviously think the Internet contains too much criticism of the government and not enough porn (the only thing they think the First Amendment protects).
My pleasure, Moose.
I did too. My Tweets have been re-tweeted, so it’ll keep gaining traction.
(Yes, yes: I will ALWAYS be Laz)
Thanks for the ping...bump for later!
I am taking the free Hillsdale course on the constitution. Just started...hope to get some real knowledge and understanding.
These efforts would be an attack on free speech and means that all these dems who voted for this, are willing to deprive us of more freedoms. In particular this would be to their advantage message-wise. I would call them a group adverse to the constitution and liberty.
Czar Sustein feels that the government should allocate the right to speak in order for it to come out equal.
The people better take note.
