Anyway, the name can be Jewish or German. In this Zimmerman's case, I believe it is German.

Zimmerman said his father was a magistrate for Virginia Supreme Court and mother was a deputy court clerk. He stated that he had the utmost respect for law enforcement and aspired to be an officer someday.
The only Federal Magistrate I could find with Zimmerman is a Bernard Zimmerman for the 9th Circuit who is retired and appointed by Clinton in ‘95. He was asked to continue hearing some cases due to the backlog of cases. I hope someone who is more skilled at this than me can find more. I feel like this is not the right guy.

Thanks. As I said, I don’t know German. A zimmerman is a carpenter, though, right? I was told that an ancestor changed their name from Zimmerman to Carpenter when they came to this country, back in the 1700s.
