DO the math. 50 states in the union. 500,000 man Army. Thats average of10,000 troops per state. At any given time 1/3 are on duty, 1/3 are sleeping. 1/3 doing maintenance etc. 1/3 of 10,000 is 3,333 soldiers on duty to patrol an entire state. LOL. Let’s say each state has 50 counties. That is 66 guys, or an undersized infantry company i.e. 2 platoons, to patrol an entire county. The numbers are not there.

Oh really? To take on the entire San Francisco Bay Area of 12 million people, all I would need is about 50 guys with armored vehicles, automatic weapons, and properly set charges. Cut the power, blow the bridges, let panic clog the exit roads with traffic, and watch the people die of smallpox. If they try to leave on foot, they won't get far, they won't be able to organize, and they won't have supplies.

Lev 26:25 You shall be gathered into your cities, I will set the pestilence among you, and you will be delivered into the hands of the enemy.

It's not that hard.

Now, if you want a real means of deterring tyranny, what it really takes is a hardened population prepared in advance to evacuate en masse and on foot if necessary, knowing where to go having the relationships set up in advance (as in with a known command structure), with supplies prepared and stored in secret out of town such that you could get there on foot if necessary.

That plan was written 3,500 years ago, but has been never understood, until now.

Your numbers are basically correct with regards to the Army, but you're overlooking an increasingly militarized police. Local and state agencies have been getting ever increasing amounts of federal aid, assistance and equipment; it doesn't come without strings.

Roll those numbers into the mix, and even if 50% of the nation's law enforcement officers (which I think is an overly optimistic projection) refused to participate in a crackdown on the general populace, the numbers change susbtantially.

How many of the militarized police force will remain on “that side” after they figure out that people are actually organizing to defend themselves against them?

How many to occupy Afghanistan?

The number there now sure ain't enough.
And that's with a pretty inept opposition.

Multiply by 50, and replace the opposition with those 18,000,000 trained in Operation Deer Hunter.

Based on the observations of what took place after Katrina, it's hard to be optimistic.

That is assuming americans are equally difficult to occupy as afghanis. You and I both know americans would be easier to occupy than afghanis.

Are you a Summer Soldier, a Sunshine Patriot
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

One of the litmus tests that should be used to determine if prominent conservative spokesmen have been summer patriots is how they have handled Obama’s eligibility.

If any of the conservative yappers ( Rush, Beck, Coulter, Levin, Ingraham, etc.) have ignored or poorly reported on Obama’s FORGED documents, his failure to e-verify, and phony social security numbers then you **KNOW** they are weenies.

If true tyranny comes to our nation Rush and the rest will sell their talents to the fascist oligarchy. They will spit shine the jack boots crushing our necks. Bet on it!

“Many of us are trained. We know this game.”

That part is very true but to not threaten violence is long past. Our words have fallen on deaf ears for decades. They should always have to ask themselves, “Is this decision worth fighting for?”

RU kidding? At least down here(south) there would be war. I think VA could amass a pretty huge militia in about 2 days. Federal Army trying to occupy the South would be decimated thru guerilla/ state militia warfare.

Well, I think you have a point but you are over stating it. Rush and the like will be just defiant enough to acquire listeners, but no more than that.

At first, maybe, but a very few atrocities on the part of the jackboots will bring out the “Mel Gibson Patriot whose child is being marched off for execution” in all of us.

I understand your math and have preached it myself; howdever, they will use that strength to go after control points, such as rail lines, telecom, ports, etc. in an effort to starve the people of food, supplies, power, and transportation.

Quite. Our side is doing exactly nothing, outvoted by the 50% who pay nothing yet are provided for via the police power of the state, plus the 30+% who do pay and beg for higher taxes. Shouting “look! it’s getting worse! speak out while putting your head on the chopping block!” is not helpful.

Remember, the powers that be have learned to not take head-on steps. They will not unleash “martial law” and “cancel elections”. They will just declare increasing non-submission illegal, and render your vote moot. They will tolerate unproductive dissent, let new social norms marginalize & ostracize opponents, and bind trivial consent to empowering tyranny (ex.: pay your taxes -> fund abortion). The “cold war” aspect applies insofar as none will dare take real steps in opposition, whining while empowering the beast.

An occupying force cant do that for they need those same infrastructure things for sustenance.

Not kidding

All urban peoples are easier to occupy than rural people. All populations that depend on public utilities and public services are easier to occupy than those populations that are not accustomed to such utilities and services.

And then there are the rural peoples who are dependent on equipment they acquire from the urban manufacturing centers.

Americans are almost all urban people now days and the few that are not are rural people who are dependent on urban manufacturing. Afghanistan has a population that is neither of these AND they are all militant.

I would estimate the soldier to occupied population ratio in afghanistan is twice what would be required in america.

You will never be allowed to know about those atrocities and neither will anyone else.

Why such overt vicious militaristic controls? Why "go after control points, such as rail lines, telecom, ports, etc." when all those control points are already subject to intense scrutiny & control? You are already complying. Dissent is impotent, thus tolerated. Recall Apple's 1984 commercial's scene depicting Big Brother declaring to the gaping subordinate hordes "Our enemies shall talk themselves to death." So go ahead: talk, prepare, whatever - you will do nothing, so better to let you thrash in peace than waste resources enforcing what already is, in practice, compliance. All such threads invariably declare "but whatever you do, comply." So...what opposition? What's to inflict troops on when all comply?

We will also see more “disappearances” such as the unsolved murders, odd suicides, and unusual deaths such as those who were threats to Obama and Clinton.

And...At first they won't go after a major conservative leader directly, but maybe it will be a missing cousin such as Malkin’s beautiful cousin.

Where did you get that statistic? Do some research.

Virginia example population = 7 Million. Data here

1 Virginia Beach city, Virginia Beach city	425,257
2 Norfolk city, Norfolk city	234,403
3 Chesapeake city, Chesapeake city	199,184
4 Richmond city, Richmond city	197,790
5 Arlington CDP, Arlington County	189,453
6 Newport News city, Newport News city	180,150
7 Hampton city, Hampton city	146,437
8 Alexandria city, Alexandria city	128,283
9 Portsmouth city, Portsmouth city	100,565
Out of a population of 7,000,000 only 2.5 million live in major population centers. Add 1 million for suburban NoVa. The majority live in the rural small town areas.

Do some research before embarrassing yourself on this forum.

Ah, but what if it were “Mel Gibson Patriot whose child was left in his care”? Would he have risked all if he was left with all? Harmless grumbling aside, if the jackboots had left his comfortable house and healthy happy family intact, he’d have not risked bringing that fight home.

This lesson has been learned. You will obey and pay, so there is no reason to antagonize you.
